Type of mother fricker that would talk to the pitcher in the 8th inning of a no-hitter

Yep usually a nice calm stretch this time of the season ; til mid August when Cabo Verde season begins...Strong Tropical Waves come off African coast

There will be a nasty storm in 2 months or so. Hopefully it'll hit Louisiana rather than Florida.

We need a good one to push through so I can hopefully catch some rain off it inland. Temps too high.

Maybe he's a budding meteorologist Jonesing over not having anything to try to cause panic in the general public over their "Doom & Gloom" forecasting.
You know the kind. Standing on a street corner holding on to a stop sign pole with mic in hand looking like he's about to be blown away------and in the background 2 women are walking side by side going on their lunch break.

Yep. Season is typically three parts.
First part of the season are typically home brew systems that form from left over cold fronts or a Central American Gyre that meanders north.
Middle of the season in August are the Cape Verde systems that form off of Africa and head west. We have days or weeks of tracking these systems. Sometimes they form quick or they are a disorganized mess until they reach the Caribbean. Most turn out to sea and become fish storms.
The last part of the season is like the first part a left over cold front leaves a low pressure center in the gulf or Caribbean and the low warms up to become tropical in nature.
