Does anyone know what happens to St. George students who want to stay in EBRSS schools?

I'm referring to what happens to those students if the St. George school district amendment passes.
Some relatives of ours live in St. George and currently their children attend a EBRSS gifted, talented or magnet school.
Their kids don't want to leave their schools (and their friends) but when our relative contacted St. George officials behind the new school district effort and then an EBRSS official she got completely different explanations for what happens in their situation.
St George officials told her their kids can stay in their current gifted, talented and magnet schools & programs all the way through their high school graduation.
The EBRSS offical told her their children can only be guaranteed a spot in their EBRSS school & program until the end of the "band" of grades their children are in after the SG school district starts.
They can apply to continue attending EBRSS schools but their application will be at the bottom of the stack and will be admitted only after all EBRSS residential applicants are admitted and if there is still room for more students.
The school "bands" are: K through 5th grade, 6th through 8th grade & 9th through 12th grade.
So, for example, when a child finishes 5th grade or 8th grade they will lose guaranteed eligibility to attend any EBRSS school.
Any accurate information would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. it goes according to bands
you can finish 5th, 8th or high school
to stay and continue on, both districts would have to come to an agreement on allowing kids to stay beyond that window

Is that how it's been working with Central and Zachary?

In retrospect, it probably would have been better for the middle class in Baton Rouge to all leave the parish entirely and leave the pigs in their filth.

Just shows you how much EBRSS really cares about students. It’s threats for people to vote no. They are pieces of shite.

Will St. George also let students from North BR attend their schools for free following the split? (Of course not, nor should they.) I mean either its two school systems or its not. I don't understand the frustration with this other than kids cant continue to the same high school as their friends, which was never guaranteed anyways.

Magnet schools are supposed to be different.

Yes they will until they graduate that school site.

As of right now the only thing guarenteed is that they can stay in the band they are in. St George knows parents in magnet program wants their kids in the magnet programs so to get them to vote yes I wouldn’t put it pass them to lie. EBR was willing to let the kids from St. George continue to come if they got the money for said kid but St. George said no they need the money

They need the smart kids more than they need the money. Without them the new school district will be nothing more than lipstick on a pig. These kids testing well is the only way they will draw kids from private schools who are sitting on the sidelines waiting to see.

Magnet schools are supposed to be different.
But that doesn't mean a student in Pointe Coupee Parish is allowed to attend Baton Rouge Magnet High School.
The general idea is a student must attend a school that's within their own district's area.

I imagine that the only people who really care about this are the people who have kids in magnet schools. All of the other kids who attend regular public schools probably don't care if they will move to another public school.
Are there any EBR magnet schools in the new St. George boundary. I would venture to say no. If that's the case, the only people getting screwed are the people who live in the limits of St. George but their kids go to EBR magnet schools.
As a parent who has sent two kids through private school in BR and very close to a third, I don't really have a lot of compassion for the people in this situation.

Why should students whose parents won't be paying EBR school property taxes be allowed to attend EBR schools with a guaranteed admission?
You continue to show your inability to think things through.

The “bands” system is a good transition plan. Some kids will get pinch, but that’s the way the world works sometimes
