I find its a cheap way to get the history of a city. Collect old matchbooks , especially from defunct restaurants, and then dig up a little history about them.

I saved over 200 of them. Then I set them all on fire (controlled burn) because it was a fire hazard.

It's a shame hotels rarely do them anymore.

I don’t collect them but I do pick them up and use them around the house. Looks better than a regular match book and I’ll sometimes think about where I got that one when I use it.

Would you like roughly 1000 of them?

I've got a subscription to newspapers.com. I'll look them up in the archives. Its kind of neat to see their old newspaper ads and any nwe stories about a restaurant.

I've got half a fishbowl of them from BR metro businesses. Most are from the 60s-80s

I've got about 500 or so I found in an attic of a house I bought, all pin up girls. Pretty cool find, was actually surprised how risque they were for the time period. I framed a lot of them and put up in mancave.
