I don’t think I’ll ever be able to comprehend how the universe can go on forever, how nothing including light can escape black holes, or what it is like in space....even a thousand miles outside Earth. Is it quiet? Is it cold? There’s no air so then how can there be a temperature? How does our modern equipment even begin to assess what conditions are like on other planets outside the solar system...including the interiors. Space is mind boggling.

For the most part. But if I start thinking into the More.. weird things believed to be out there and the actual distances between things i kinda start to get a lazy eye and have to snap back to it

No air. No sound vibration. No noise.

Is it cold?

Incredibly.

The fact that we are operating in just a spec in time really puts things into perspective.

Time is the only thing in which humanity cannot buy or sell.

thermal readings, different elements give off different signatures on the electromagnetic spectrum.

these are all very basic questions.

The amazing thing is that you could probably survive at least a minute or two in outer space without a space suit on. You'll pass out within seconds however.

One of the trippest things is the "observable universe" is just the area where light has traveled. There's matter outside of that halo. Super clusters are almost too large to understand. Distance is the main reason why we will never see another intelligent being.

Absolutely not.

What blows my mind is they say the universe is forever expanding. How can something expand if it’s never ending. If there’s no boundary, how can something expand?
