I live in northern Illinois. So if it's summer, I'd do okay. I'd probably be dead very quickly in winter.

It was 40 years ago, so my memory is pretty sparse, I know it contained 550 cordage, large heavy-duty garbage bags (Used as tarps or ponchos) I used to cover my shelter. Firestaring stuff, some hard candies (I didn't take any food), and a couple of coffee filters to strain the water into the can so I could boil it in the can.

In my pocket I know I had a few things like a knife. I also wore two pair of socks so I could take one pair to use as gloves. The final exam was in the fall in the Ozarks so it was chilly at night. I warmed rocks in my fire to stuff in my clothes for warmth.

What kind of hunting we talking? You probably wouldn't have box stands and corn piles.

Do you mean survive a week if you had to or survive a week where you could tap out at any moment? 99% of us wouldn't make it if we could tap out.

No doubt I can survive a week in the wilderness, A 22 cal rifle, a light, fishing line, box of matches, and a little salt.
I could eat squirrels, rabbits, and birds for a week.

Alone style with clothes and 10 survival items, probably so

I don't think this would even be that hard.

Tent
Lifestraw
Mosquito spray
Baby wipes
Lighter
Headlamp
Knife
Big arse jar of peanut butter or some other calorie dense food

+2 other items of your preference.

But yeah your wife is calling Jody to come pitch a tent when you leave

a week

3 days turned into 8 days once during a fall storm and the plane couldn't get in. We had plenty of deer to eat.

This. It's so transparent she wants you gone for a while that it's embarrassing you didn't pick up on it.

Anyway yes, I could survive, and if I could take some household shite with me it would be even easier.

But it would be so fricking miserable I wouldn't even consider it, I hate Louisiana heat and humidity. I'd rather survive in the mountains or the cold north.

In LA I'd do it in November or December.

Only a week? Gun, knife, tent, lighter, sleeping bag.

Hell you could do it with 5 items easily. She is making it fun, not hard

With absolutely nothing? I mean if it was the woods behind my house I could go stand on a corner and just ask for $ and go get a McDouble everyday. If you dropped me 100 miles deep into a forest, like naked and afraid with just a fire starter and a machete, probably not. I could make a shelter but after that it would likely be just like the show, me laying there for 7 days to preserve energy.

Beyond easy. Rifle, bullets, matches, tent, pillow, sleeping bag, knife, beer, weed and my dog.

You can live 7 days without food and water. As long as you have adequate clothing and don’t get eaten by something, yea, anyone can survive a week in the wilderness

Eat I’m a fricking idiot. Don’t trust what you immediately see on the internet. As long as you get water yeah, you can survive for a week

As long as I have my Coumadin, I could do it. Without it, I’d last about 4-6 days and end up coyote food.

ETA: of course the same is true no matter if I’m in the woods or home, or anywhere else for that matter.

Snakes
mosquitoes
horse flies
dirty arse
bad sleep
lack of alcohol
lack of naked woman
spiders
infection
sweat
heat
humidity

Only way would be camping near a swimmable lake with decent fresh water fishing... but that ain't exactly roughing it out.
