My father's sisters in Illinois were my Ants.
My late Grandmother's sisters in Virginia were my GreatAunts (very British long A).
I learned who they were long before I learned to spell and only then learned that there was one word pronounced two different ways.

For one, you say aw-tum not atom to pronounce autumn so you are proving my point. Secondly, aunt isn’t a word meant to be pronounced differently than how it’s spelled. Most of the words you listed are. Weirdos just want to put their own spin on aunt

A real coonass calls his Aunt a Taunt, the oldest aunt is a Ta-Taunt.
So if Mary is the oldest Aunt you call her Ta-Taunt, if Thelma is younger than Mary you call her Taunt Thelma.

I have 8 ants
Ain’t Joyce, Ain’t Debbie, etc.
My maternal grandfather’s family was all Noncs and Taunts, although they’ve all died off, and rarely do you use the whole first name, just a piece of it.
Uncle Treville was Nonc Ville
Aunt Lidia was Taunt Lid
