I get if I git 40 after Thursday, then alm 8 at OT on Friday. Sometimes i am twisted if I wanna use PTO or take an unpaid day off.

I've always struggled to step away, knowing that when I get back....it's to an even bigger fire.

Anything over 8 hours daily is OT for me...I get three or four hours a day. I never take any unpaid time due to having 6 weeks vacation. I typically sell two weeks back to the company at the end of the year because they don't let us roll it over.

That’s the only downside for me taking broke off. Even one day puts me somewhat behind and I’ll still reply to some emails, texts, and calls while off work. If I take multiple days off, that’s when I get really behind and know my first day or so back will be mostly playing catch-up.
None of that stops me from taking and enjoying my PTO though.

Will you get paid for it upon separation? If yes, it's stupid to take it now unnecessarily; if no, then once you have enough days to cover until long-term disability insurance kicks in, okay, but don't get crazy with it.
Eta: my worthless sister uses her leave sick or personal for the slightest of reasons - headache, hangover, just not feeling it today, etc. Then, when she's legitimately sick, complains about how she's not getting paid when she's sick.
