Meditations is a great read, just from the perspective that he was the emperor of Rome at the height of the empire and trying to live a stoic life.

As someone has mentioned every “adult” should have at least read “Meditations” once. A well bounded copy with a $50.00 bill tucked into the last page makes for a great graduation gift for a favorite nephew.

I practice stoicism, manage my finances according to Dave Ramsey, set my goals as guided by Tony Robbins, breathe only using WimHof method, fitness is guided by CrossFit, and read my Bible daily.

Practicing stoicism is a useful tool for a Christian. In an attempt to be like Christ as much as possible, indifference to worldly troubles is essential for remembering God sits above it all.

Absolutely, being a slave to your feelings will get you nowhere. Some people’s personality are stoic by nature anyway. Love is an action and not just a feeling.

I never actively thought about it but I saw some YouTube videos on stoicism a while back and it sounded like me. Somewhat related, look into the writings of Musashi Miyamoto as well.

Well it was a pagan belief system.

ETA: lol at downvoters downvoting basic historical facts. Very stoic.
