That glassware is great! Didn’t know they had a double jucifer!

Meditations is a great read, just from the perspective that he was the emperor of Rome at the height of the empire and trying to live a stoic life.
What’s worse?

Having a coach that gets paid 750k a year that can’t win a big game or a coach that makes 10 mil a year that perpetually can’t win a big game?
LSU is too good to worry about UL, can’t be seen caring lol

Do y’all realize how hard the tour is to make? Most of the top ranked juniors won’t ever make it. To think all he has to do “is put in the effort” is crazy. He isn’t even on a big college golf radar right now much less tour golf

You are right about the tour, but he will be on just about every college radar if he can at least be average at that level which he is on pace for. Let’s be real

The current average team size is 10, so not much difference. Regardless, from what I saw today, Charlie without the name would easily be able to get a spot at a Southeastern right now. Not saying he could play there tomorrow but he would be someone with a committable offer now.

Imagine trying to compete for a spot against Tiger’s son. Good luck lol. His son will be able to play at just about any school on name alone. Now making the tour is a whole different game, but he’ll obviously have the resources to be successful if he is committed.

The truth is, the transfer portal makes it impossible to develop players. These guys are out the door to the next stop before they learn to play with proper leverage and technique while their bodies are filling out during the maturation process. The portal also makes depth a major problem. You may have bodies, but its becoming rare to keep guys in a system year over year for the plays to be second nature, learn to play as a unit with your teammates and gel as a well oiled unit. The quality of the game is suffering, and the transfer portal is only going to make it worse over time.

This 100%

NIL + Transfer Portal = zero consistency and worse football

re: "Louisiana" You're a Fraud!

UL hosted the conference championship game and lost with our 4th string Freshman QB due to injuries. Our NIL money spending is peanuts.

Meanwhile the flagship school wastes how much money to sit on warm couches for championship Saturday? You guys have been outranked in the final college standings by UL or Tulane for 4 consecutive seasons.

Hope you’re getting your money’s worth?

Don’t stop hating....

When watching a small part of that game, I couldn't help but wonder how army got to good so quickly. at least a large portion of that entire team was the team LSU beat 62-0 last year. They couldn't have done much of anything in the portal, so what happened that they improved so much? Pretty impressive to me.

You answered your own question “couldn’t have done much in the portal”. Its called team chemistry and it is VITAL to success in team sports. The teams that stay together will be successful in this everyone is always a free agent new era of college football. The college game is garbage now.

Going by rankings and not hypotheticals can someone tell me the last year LSU finished as the top ranked team in Louisiana? 2019?

Ouch

Every program has shitty fans. I get not supporting LSU for the other reasons you listed, though, and that is largely why none of my money goes to them (aside for the fact that I would rather give my money to McNeese first simply because I'm a grad).

True with shitty fans but not every school has a state government that sets up one school to succeed and every other to fail. I’ll support my alma mater.

Geaux Cajuns, 8-1 and in the CFP conversation!

If all the other G5s were eliminated and it came down to a 11-2 Tulane vs a 12-1 Louisiana it would be Tulane that gets taken b/c they beat y'all head to head and their losses were to SEC/Big 12 teams.

If both teams win our respective conference championships then yes Tulane should get it based on the head to head win on the road.

I was an LSU fan long before I went to McNeese. ETA: only a ULL guy would make two posts responding to the same post...

I grew up rooting for both the Cajuns & Tigers, then moved out of state. Came back to go to school at UL and stopped rooting for LSU after a number of instances; getting flipped off/cursed at and ridiculed by adult Tiger fans as a student for just supporting my school during games against them. It was a very heated baseball rivalry at the time. Anyway, it opened my eyes to how every other state school was treated compared to LSU and how they expected you to be a fan just because its Louisiana. I’ve always been a fan of the underdogs so LSU lost its appeal. LSU gets everything, they don’t need my support. Would rather be a part of building something and making a difference than just riding the coattails of an established giant. Just how I see it.

But yeah, there are alot of dumbass McNeese alumni that pull for LSU before McNeese...not afraid to admit that about our fanbase--unlike every ULL fan on this board, apparently. Ya'll want to act like ya'll are so damn good that your people can't possibly be bandwagon fans of another school. Because the NOLA Bowl is such an accomplishment and all.

We are well aware of how many people go to UL and send all their support and money to Baton Rouge. We just have a large percentage of our fanbase that are very vocal about not liking it. You have to remember we play at the same classification and are only 40 miles down the road from the flagship, so it affects us a lot more than some of the northern LA schools or if we played at Mcneese’s level it would be different. I think UL deserves better from its fanbase in Lafayette/Acadiana.

We probably have more people sitting in the stands pulling for McNeese anytime they play LSU than ULL does...you know, when ULL actually musters the courage to play LSU.

LOL, congrats on getting to play LSU.

I hate bandwagon fans...which is why I can't stand most ULL fans since damn near all of the ones I know are bandwagon Bama fans.

I didn't call all ULL fans bandwagon fans (but maybe you've had a look in the mirror over that statement)

Sure you didn’t! It’s just ironic a Mcneese fan would say that, but then you are a bandwagon Tiger fan so I guess it does make sense!

Will just be an embarrassment getting ran off the field and proving the 12 teams is a joke

Then ya’ll can get your faux minor league and just play the same 20 schools and leave college athletics to the other 100 D1 schools.

And? What does me being a fan of my alma mater have anything to do with this?

You are calling us bandwagon fans, all your fanbase-alumni ride that Tiger bandwagon ahead of Mcneese.

No one is saying that except for you, quit making things up to prove LSU’s superiority with that know your place mentality. That’s why many of us have a hard time rooting for you.

Successful in what? Who's hating? Who started this thread just because LSU got beat last night. I've had experience with both schools, therefore, I can criticize both and I do. To think the Cajuns would have a better record than LSU with the same schedule is comical.

3 of the last 5 years ranked top 25 in football is very successful for g5. Just because we don’t win the SEC doesn’t make us irrelevant. Top 10 annually in softball, top 25 pretty regularly in baseball. Basketball is down but has a strong history. Quit comparing everything to LSU.

If it was McNeese, ULM, or even La. Tech, I would be happy for them. But, the Cajun fans think if you live in Lafayette, you can't cheer for LSU only USL. They say,"Move to Baton Rouge if you like LSU". That's why they had 4,000 people at their homecoming game yesterday. I've lived in Baton Rouge and had friends with a USL degree. Should they only cheer for LSU because they live in Baton Rouge?

You should have pride in the University you went to #1 over all other schools yes, this is why every school other than LSU in this state has hardly any fanbase. Only reason ya’ll hate on UL is because we are successful and have a core of fans that don’t worship LSU first. It’s not enough but we at least have some loyal fans.
