Now that I think about it, I can only think of one family I’ve known that was without a doubt Jewish. It was a friend I knew in elementary and middle school. His brother was a couple of grades behind us. They were cool and never really thought about the religious stuff too much. If I’ve known anyone else who is Jewish, they didn’t make it known to me.

You might say I’ve known a few.

Jews, as with any people, come in all shapes, sizes, demeanors and politics. Many more conservatives in the south and in the oil business.
Don’t believe the stereotypes. Some are like that, but not all.
I went into agriculture because I found it interesting and my grandfather loved it. Not many US Jews in ag., but a ton of international Jews are.

Blog time!

I knew a jewish gal from college. Several years ago I helped her pick up a sofa she bought from some crack dealer lookin mfer in the projects around bundy road. She knew I grew up down there and had a truck which is why she had asked me in the first place. Her grandfather was some stupendously rich person but he wasn't into generational wealth (i was shocked) and believed his kids should make theor own money.

We were sitting in my truck on the side of the road close to chef having a conversation that moved to politics. She made some wacky pro hillary comment and I went "well actually" on her. She was floored that I was both conservative and supported Trump. When she asked why I was like bitch look around.

Anyway, we got the sofa from mr. Crack dealer without issue, he looked REALLY familiar so I probably went to school with him and he assumed she was my white gf. I got nervous when she pulled cash out her pocket but he just puffed on his blunt and said thanks and helped me load up the sofa.

Tldr She was cool but was and is a massive hippy.

I’ve gotten to know quite a few through work, including some Hasidic. Most that I know are in the New York area but I know a few in Florida. All are very nice once you get through the big city surliness and all but one are males. The lone female handles her families business as her father passed and her sole brother renounced Judaism.

Yes, the ones I know are nice people. They tend to be very family oriented and place high value on education.

So true. Our Jewish neighborhood kids were reading chapter books before I could wipe my own arse. When they came over to our house, eating white bread was like an orgasm to them. Good people.

My four suitemates in college years ago were all Jewish. For the most part, all of them were good dudes. Used to go eat in their kosher cafeteria once in awhile. I was like the token goyem. Very exclusionary culture, but they're nice about it.

Went to school in New England (or Tulane) where there was a kosher cafeteria?

Yes. A bunch. Birmingham has a very large, established Jewish community here. I have three temples less than 3 miles from my house. The butcher shop closest to me carries a lot of kosher items and odd cuts you don't see everywhere else.

I told a joke to a group of friends once and there were a couple other guys around.

"What's the difference between a Jew and a canoe? A canoe will tip."

One guy looked me straight in the face and said "I'm Jewish" all I could say was "I'm sorry"

I think my daughter's high school just outside Lafayette claims to have around 10% Jewish kids. But I don't know any of them.

One family. One daughter a year younger than me. Great people.

The daughter gave me some of my first poontang.

I also used to hire pipeline welders from a Jewish gentlemen. He also dealt diamonds on the side. His welders never had a cutout and rarely a repair after x-ray.
