I wonder about all the shite people tried smoking before tobacco or marijuana.

And if someone ate that watermelon, then they have eaten the objectively best watermelon in the history of the world. Do you think that person knows they ate the best watermelon ever?
They may not have realized it at the time, but you know they chased that high the rest of their lives or are still searching for the next great watermelon

I often think of much less consequential scenarios.
Like, “am I the only person in the world listening to this song while in the shower right now?”, and things such as that.

I always thought the first person to eat a raw oyster must've been hungry AF...
I think the opposite way. Humans ate raw meat for a million years before someone decided to throw some meat in the fire then eat it.
What made them do that? Was it an accident where the meat slipped out of his hand and landed on the coals? Did they smell the meat burning on the coals and their mouth started watering? Was it done on purpose? If so, what was the reasoning? They didnt know that heat killed germs. They didnt know about germs.

Great example. Someone did that first and ate the first cooked meat.

Who was the first person to regret opening this post?
Posted on 7/2/26 at 12:47 pm to weagle1999
Yes!
1st to:
Get in a boat and sail into ocean-sized horizon.
Eat an animal
Own / be a slave
Tag a whale
Jump out of a plane
Deep sea dive
Take a vaccine (here, we put disease in you to prevent same disease)

My dad got bladder cancer recently. The treatment was to stick a catheter up his dick and spray the inside of his bladder with a tuberculosis culture. It actually works really well thankfully.
But my response was, who in the hell ever thought to try this in the first place? And who was the first person to volunteer as a guinea pig for that?

The first person walking around with a tooth growing out of some random part of their face.

Indians watching every other animal around eating shrimp or crawfish figured they must not kill you, let's try to cook some.

rolled up loose leaf paper or tree leaves like normal kids hiding out in the woods looking at a smuggled Playboy

Prolly found some dead critters after a forest fire and realized cooked meat was great.

what about the guy that said, "See that white thing that came out of that chicken's butt? Im going to eat it."?
Eggs are a prime target for animal diets across the animal kingdom. I'm sure they saw other animals doing it (and not chicken eggs) and ate them. Chicken eggs in a harvesting/farming scenario came much later.
These early people didn't have the same lens of what is gross as us. Something coming out of a butt might not have phased them.

Probably just figured out patients with TB don't get certain cancers and it went from there.

I often wonder if Larry Hotdogs really understood the magnitude of what he created when he accidentally dropped pig lips and assholes into his dick-shaper machine.

I want to know what the first person who saw the Grand Canyon thought, or the MS River in LA and what they thought.
Or the first person who took a boat of some kind across a body of water that you couldn’t see land from, and subsequently what the people on that land thought when some guy showed up on a boat beyond where they knew land was.
