The US spends more on military or close to the amount that every single other 250+ countries in the world spends combined. It'd take the whole world coming here with the defense tech we have. Any alliance of 10 countries would probably lose.

I imagine there were plenty of Brits who thought that could never happen to them.

It would require a sea change in global politics, economics, and military might. Right now, there is no combination of countries that can stand up to the US, if we decided to flex. Attacks will come from non-traditional sources (cyber, terrorism, biological). People talking civil war do not seem to grasp how powerful the FED is. The American Civil War happened because we basically had no military to speak of. Mustering local militias and calling for volunteers won't do against the most powerful military the world has every seen.

Hard to imagine any foreign country invading us at any substantial level, considering the size of our navy.

Our navy is less than 300 ships.

What’s protecting us is two huge oceans. No one has the transport capability to ship in large numbers of troops. Even in the War of 1812, Brits used hit and run tactics for land assaults.

If so, it would have to be another Civil War. No other country or group of countries has the naval power and logistical reach to overcome our Navy and land-based missiles and air power. The only other navies with any kind of expeditionary reach are Japan, the U.K., and France. Aside from the fact that they're allies, their navies combined couldn't overcome our naval power to get them here. Then you have to consider how many men and how much equipment, food, fuel, and ammo it would take to conquer a country as large as ours with 330M+ people, many of them well-armed. It isn't even a remote possibility.

Ya man, millions of military aged men with zero cultural or patriotic ties to our population roaming freely amongst us certainly couldn't grow into a violent movement within our own borders. No chance. Mathematical certainty. The dog whistling has to stop!

Nope. No one wants our land. Countries fight countries on another’s soil because they want that land.

Do you know nothing about geography's effects on agriculture, transport, and economics? We occupy the best piece of land on this planet. Our land is why we're the wealthiest country on earth.

Wouldn't this be the other way around? Like I can't imagine biden supporters taking up arms if he lost

Do you remember Antifa and all of the protests and violence going on with them…..also remember all of the looting and violence during the “summer of love”?

Now, have you noticed how all of that disappeared since Biden was elected?

I seem to remember a lot of black owned businesses being burned down, people being killed but democrats cheering the riots on. Then when some rich, white politicians got scared, democrats had enough and wanted it to stop.

The French and Indian War, the Revolution, the Texas War for Independence, the Indian Wars (there are several), and the Civil War all fought on north American soil. Centuries old conflicts but America is a baby nation at least as far as history is concerned. It's amazing to think someone could have a "no War could ever be fought here" hot take.

Wars aren't just fought for land, they could be fought for social reasons, racial mostly, and we arent a homogenous society. Who knows what conflicts could arise in the next 100 yrs? When you count how many conflicts we've been involved in for the past 100 yrs it's pure hubris to think we can't be touched by it here at home. How that conflict would go is certainly up to interpretation but count me out of the "can never happen" camp.

I am pretty sure we have the technology to see them coming well before they get here.

Also we have military bases around the globe. There is no country on the planet dumb enough to try. It would come via nuclear and they better make sure they wipe it all out.

According to Bret Weinstein who has witnessed 1st hand the Darien Gap in Panama, there is an alarming number of Asian men immigrating to the US that are unaccounted for once they arrive. These men are of military age, have there own separate camp, and will not talk with you. The people in the other camps (mostly south american in origin) are more than happy to dialogue with you and tell their story. Everything (according to Bret) about these asian men making their way to our country is different than the other camp. The whole experience Bret witnessed has changed his view on our immigration practice as a country.

How would you interpret those circumstances??
