Sometimes. I like weekday matinees when theatre is almost empty. I have a drink but no snacks, then I go out to eat alone after the matinee. Middle of the afternoon is not busy at restaurants, so they are happy for even a solo customer….whereas at lunch or dinner rush they hate to give up a 4 top or booth to a single diner.

Yep. Since I was in my mid-20s. Love a mid-week, mid-afternoon empty theater.

Yes, it’s wonderful.

Just wait until your husband gets back.

I’ve never understood people’s reluctance to going to a movie alone. It’s a movie. You are sitting in the dark and SUPPOSED to not talk during the entire movie. Why do you need anyone there? I do it during the day when I am off, especially if it is a movie my SO doesn’t want to see.

Going to the movies solo during non-peak hours is a great experience. You pretty much have the theater to yourself.

Yep. With my work schedule I have some time during the day when everyone else is working so I like to go. Especially if it’s something the fiancé doesn’t necessarily want to see.

might I suggest the whole hole in the bottom of the popcorn trick? Pro Tip - extra butter.
How does this trick work?

I used to do it all the time in the afternoon during the week. Discounted tickets.
And a lot of times I would see my mother sitting across the theater by herself enjoying it. Never sat with her-we talked in the lobby on the way out.

Back in the mid 60's and a young teen with my first paying job, I would head downtown to catch movies at the theaters down there-----Saenger, Loews State, Joy, Orpheum etc.
I'd get there for the early matinees in the summer months and watch the movie at least 2 times just to suck up the A/C since we had none at home and it was hot as hell during the day.
Now, I hardly ever go to watch movies. Between silly ticket prices and even sillier concession stand gouging, I prefer to just watch TV at home.
I think the last movie I went to see was "Saving Private Ryan" since so many people were talking about it and how the D-Day landing sequence was the best depiction of what actual combat looked like.

Yes, on several occasions. However, I never went to a porn flick alone and never to a drive in theater alone.

It's the only way I go to the movies these days.

Yeah. I don't go to the movies to socialize with others.

Dune 2 and 1917
Dune 2 is terrible, and would be so no matter how many people you took with you to see it. Very bad movie. The worst, perhaps.
1917 was pretty good. I don’t think my typical movie date would have added anything to the viewing, had she cast me with me.

All the time. I'm at the movie right now watching Horizon.
