It doesn’t matter what you believe, been there (NDE) or on the way close enough to confirm it. There is no real afterlife as we have souls and are immortal. This earth life is just a test you wanted to do and although it is highly prized and you may have waited 100s or 1000s of years to come here it’s a few seconds in your life span if that. When we die we return to our true form.
We come here to become human to work on the issues that are keeping us from joining the one or being closer to God. Typically our celestial friends etc help us etc.

This life is nothing, it’s a game an illusion or dream that we play to work on our faults. Physical death isn’t something to fear like a child, but to be welcomed as your returning to your true cell and coming out of the illusion of a physical life.

Everyone will understand this in time. Your beliefs don’t matter

I've wondered whether or not every one of us has already been dead (as in the time prior to our conception).

It's a yes for me. I wish I could be a better Christian man on earth but when I kick the bucket Let me walk into the light and see some Jesus, fam, and Elvis. Oh and all my goldens i have lost on this earth.

We are not bodies with a spirit rather we are spirit with with a body

Nope. And when I sit in church every week I ask myself. "Is this a cult"

Sometimes I wish I did. I think what we have here is it. Similar to before being born, its just nothing.

I can get onboard with this. It just seems convenient that creation was centered around this speck of a planet, and its savior was sent to this planet a mere speck of time ago.

Seems convenient.

Convenient is one word for it. I'd prefer to use the term intentional.

Reading this thread, it is no wonder man cannot solve basic problems and it is easy to see why so many have lined up to discard the foundation of public education. shite, they’re all so readily convinced they’ll be in heaven for eternity that they don’t care if they have to live in hell until they get there.

What an odd response.

What’s odd? Read this 100+ response thread filled with people absolutely certain of the afterlife, though there is zero evidence of such a thing.

Present many of these same people with mountains of data and evidence of a problem we could and should fix, they’ll tell you it’s a conspiracy; a part of the liberal agenda to indoctrinate people so the one world globalist government can launch.

No.

Someday the versions of Heaven and Hell commonly associated with the Abrahamic religions will be just as silly to future civilizations as Hades and crossing the Styx is to us.

Christians call that faith.

Men and women of faith have solved real problems all throughout history, large and small.

What is a problem you think is better solved without belief in God or eternity?
