not really (behavior analysis for individuals on the Autism spectrum)
I find professionals in my field almost always fall into 1 of 2 catagories:
The over the top this field is my life category. Spend their free time watching videos and speakers, know all the main speakers on a circuit, spout off obscure new theories or methods in a show-offy way
or
The why the hell are you in this field crew. They went to school for forever just to provide shitty low effort borderline abusive care
I did have a few behavior analysts that were super down to earth and do great work...but I moved into a management role over them so now I don't really associate with them for that reason.

Absolutely.
Having friends in your industry is the best path to a better job.
The Internet makes it impossible to get a job interview unless you know someone inside that company, since online job postings get so many replies.

Veterinarian, i am married to one so....every damn day.
but yes i do when i can. Vets typically are smart but down to earth. couple of crazies here and there but even they aren't that bad.
my specialty is rarer and isolated so i don't get to hang out with others as much as id like.

I have realized that I genuinely dislike most of the people in my profession.
I no longer go to our state meetings and such. I just can't stand the notion that we do the same thing so we all have to be friends.
Not one whit.

The one thing I like less than being a lawyer is associating with other lawyers. I literally can't stand them.

Yes. Some of my best friends have come from meeting because of the industry I am in

I have lunch every couple of months with a group of ladies I worked with in my first career (speech language pathologist). We are all retired. They’re great people.

I ONLY associate with other man - whores. Fred Garvin and I are virtually inseparable.

Not at all. Trade shows were the worst. Same old dudes telling the same story from 30 years ago. Not many young people entering the business to spark some life.
