This is utter bullshite.

I might be misunderstanding but are you saying the bible was referring to the US?

Our forefathers gave us a foundation based on separation of church and state.

This country began because of people who saw first-hand the dangers of letting religion run your government.

What OP quoted is pure ignorance and shows a lack of fundamental understanding of the history of this country. Whoever wrote that is misguided

In one of Billy Grahams sermons he said something along the lines of, if the US political system is based on Gods kingdom then we're in trouble.

Queen Elizabeth was a big fan of Billy Graham. At least according to the Crown.

Franklin Graham isn't "misguided" so much as "choosing to be evil."

American Evangelicals really need to drop the whole "OMG we're so persecuted and it will be illegal to go to church any day now" shtick, but it's become such a central aspect of their entire worldview that it will probably never happen in our lifetime.

You really think whether a country is Protestant or not has significant bearing on their economic success?

African and Latin American countries in general don’t do well but that’s for plenty of other reasons.

Most of these European countries that are technically (because a lot of them don’t actually practice the religion but still identify as such) still Protestant having been seeing declines in religious numbers. Then you have a country like Japan or South Korea that are certainly not even Christian.

Yes I am saying that countries that still practice animism, Hinduism or Islam are going to be disadvantaged relative to neighboring nations that are majority Christian. Catholicism is a mixed bag because in some cultures (think South America) it is closer to animism than Protestantism.

In a global marketplace, embracing a Protestant worldview of hard work and Biblical morality is an asset. Protestants are relative to other religions very tolerant of competing religions. The West takes it for granted that you are able to dissent from the majority religion without a cost or legal punishment. That isn’t the case in most Muslim, Buddhist or Hindu majority nations.

Guess which nation is projected to have the largest population of Christians in the world in the next 15 years? ... that would be China.

The post Christian European nations benefit from the legal and property rights and human liberties that were built during the Reformation in Europe.

That and the idea that the US, in god's eyes, is better than any other nation.

How long do you think it will be until Christians are targeted for holding core mainstream Biblical beliefs?

I am not 100% sure, but this seems wrong. China doesn't accept religion. Those who are Christian practices it sort of "underground". China being the power that it is has nothing to do with religion because.. The government doesn't allow it..

quote:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

Hmmm... or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...

George Washington once said
quote:

”Religion and morality are indispensible supports” for “it is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible.”

People don’t understand the context of that age... they were trying to avoid a Catholic or Baptist sanctioned government... so they limited the government’s ability to restrict people’s freedom to worship and we have the extreme take of today that religion is stricken from the public sphere.

Chinese citizens and the government are two different things. The Chinese government has persecuted Christianity to varying degrees over the past 50 years and is continuing to do it today... to no avail.

A Christianized China is good for their people and good for our nation from a peace and prosperity standpoint... but who knows how it turns out.

Economically and socially.

Hint: It’s already happening on the margins through cases like the Christian baker... it will only grow as society becomes more hostile to a literal reading of the New Testament.

What about Muslims who actually live a "normal" life. What I am saying is, there are Muslims who are regular everyday people, who have jobs, family, etc. There are wealthy Muslim nations (Dubai to name one). How does this fit into the equation?
