It's pretty well accepted that Jesus was a real person who lived

Yes I am saying that countries that still practice animism, Hinduism or Islam are going to be disadvantaged relative to neighboring nations that are majority Christian.
India has one of the highest GDPs in the world. They’re a global economic power. You do also realize there are wealthy Muslim countries right? In addition why did you ignore the poor African Protestant countries that the other poster and I mentioned? After all that was what the original response was about.
quote:
Catholicism is a mixed bag because in some cultures (think South America) it is closer to animism than Protestantism.
So you’re just going to dismiss all the Latin American Christian countries because some (<—according to your own estimate) of them are supposedly animism? Seems to me you’re cherry picking here.
quote:The hard work view has existed before the 1400s. There have been empires, like the Roman for most of their history, that were pretty damn successful for a long time despite not being Christian.
In a global marketplace, embracing a Protestant worldview of hard work and Biblical morality is an asset.
quote:
Guess which nation is projected to have the largest population of Christians in the world in the next 15 years? ... that would be China.
Bringing up China doesn’t help your argument at all. China rose to become a modern economic giant decades ago. Back when their Christian population was even smaller. You also said this:
quote:The Chinese people have certainly not embraced a Protestant view of hard work considering Christians (part of whom are Catholics) make up 2.5% of their population with the vast majority of their population being atheists or Buddhists. Even in 15 years Christians will still make up a tiny portion of the population. Certainly not a Christianized country. I also mentioned two predominantly non-Christian Asian countries in South Korea and Japan. Yet you ignored those two and brought up China.
In a global marketplace, embracing a Protestant worldview of hard work and Biblical morality is an asset.
Since there are non-Christian countries that have done well while also some Christian countries that have not done as well, how you consider that maybe they’re far other far more important factors. Those European and European descended countries have plenty of other things in common rather then a large Protestant population. Yet you think that’s the primary factor.

None of that is relevant to what FG actually wrote. He never mentioned wealth. He said “blessed.” Your secular materialistic thinking automatically equates the word blessed with wealth. “Blessed” is the divine giving of God’s favor. The favor that he blessed our nation with was liberty , societal harmony, self determination , basic natural rights unimpeded by Government, etc.. America is unique throughout all of known history. No other nations citizens have ever had the liberty of self determination free of an authoritarian government as has the citizens of America. All that he is saying is that the moral decay of our society is placing that divine favor in jeopardy.

I was responding to CivilTiger83 not the OP directly. He was questioning that there was no Protestant majority country that was a terrible place. He was referring to the success of those European nations. He also directly stated how their Protestantism plays a large part in the country’s standing in the global marketplace. No where did I quote the OP or FG or blessed or anything.

What am I delusional about? That there are significant groups of people (and growing) that are going after private citizens that hold beliefs advocated for in the New Testament?
You are make ad hominem attacks... are you a man of science and rationality?

I didn’t say all Protestant majority nations are Shangri La... I asked you to name the shithole Protestant majority countries...

Bowl is one of the “scoffers” that was predicted to be around in the last days. If you have Amazon Prime check out “‘The Coming Convergence”, “‘The Daniel Project”, and “‘Megiddo, The March to Armageddon”’. Those three documentaries are very informative.

India entering new dark age...
quote:
Even when India was an economic basket case of the world, it was a political and spiritual bright spot that guaranteed basic freedoms to its people and offered a refuge to Westerners seeking peace and spiritual wisdom. But under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is going backwards on every front: Its economy is in a free-fall (with growth at a six-year low and unemployment at a 45-year high); its polity is becoming authoritarian; and its dominant religion, Hinduism, is growing intolerant.
I didn’t say countries that are majority Muslim or Hindi cannot have wealth. I said ultimately those belief systems if they are enshrined into the government will lead to a restriction of economic and religious liberty that will limit that nations ability to thrive in a global economy.

India is expected to have the world’s economy by 2050. India’s problem is their ridiculous population density.
Why are you choosing to ignore most of what I said? You still haven’t addressed me or the other guy that brought up the African Protestant nations. You still haven’t addressed the Latin American Christian ones, since only some of them do you consider not really Christian. You haven’t addressed how Japan, South Korea, or even the China you brought up are doing extremely well. And there are Muslim and that Hindu nation that are thriving in the global economy more so then some Christian nations.
