The hard work view has existed before the 1400s. There have been empires, like the Roman for most of their history, that were pretty damn successful for a long time despite not being Christian.

Bringing up China doesn’t help your argument at all. China rose to become a modern economic giant decades ago. Back when their Christian population was even smaller. You also said this:

The Chinese people have certainly not embraced a Protestant view of hard work considering Christians (part of whom are Catholics) make up 2.5% of their population with the vast majority of their population being atheists or Buddhists. Even in 15 years Christians will still make up a tiny portion of the population. Certainly not a Christianized country. I also mentioned two predominantly non-Christian Asian countries in South Korea and Japan. Yet you ignored those two and brought up China.

Since there are non-Christian countries that have done well while also some Christian countries that have not done as well, how you consider that maybe they’re far other far more important factors. Those European and European descended countries have plenty of other things in common rather then a large Protestant population. Yet you think that’s the primary factor.

I was responding to CivilTiger83 not the OP directly. He was questioning that there was no Protestant majority country that was a terrible place. He was referring to the success of those European nations. He also directly stated how their Protestantism plays a large part in the country’s standing in the global marketplace. No where did I quote the OP or FG or blessed or anything.

I didn’t say countries that are majority Muslim or Hindi cannot have wealth. I said ultimately those belief systems if they are enshrined into the government will lead to a restriction of economic and religious liberty that will limit that nations ability to thrive in a global economy.
