The idea that Jesus blesses any one "nation" over another is absolutely ludicrous.
Genesis 12:1-3 says:
Now the Lord said to Abram,
And I will make you a great nation,
And I will bless you,
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing;
And I will bless those who bless you,
And the one who curses you I will curse.
And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”
This is why the United States has always kept Israel as its ally.

Partially yes, but there are nations that are way more devout Christian that are shitholes.
Name majority Protestant nations that are terrible places...

That too, but part of our foundation is the separation of state and government right? In other words, our religious beliefs should be between us and whatever god people pray to and not be incorporated into our government.
The founders set it up so that the state did not force a particular religion on its people. It also was not set up so that religion was banned in the public sphere.

I've seen the Franklin Graham Facebook memes...
Someone is full of shite. Not sure who is getting the quotes wrong but they're pretty eye rolling.

The United States keeps Israel as its ally because they provide American defense contractors with a $3.5 billion taxpayer subsidy every year.

The whitewashing that goes on here is always amusing. If anything, our forefathers pushed for a, relatively, secular society built on rationalism
The whitewashing is the other way around. Our founding fathers were overwhelmingly some form of deist, whether that is Christian or a general deism.
Rationalism does not get you to our form of government. The idea of separation of powers and inalienable rights cannot be deduced from a pure rationalism aka humanistic worldview.

The US has been an ally of Israel long before we received any kind of profit off of the relationship... you are smarter than this SCLibertarian.

In order to believe that we are allied with Israel based on biblical teachings, one must believe our politicians are moral beings. I don't. The people who run our country are evil. They are driven by greed and power, two things Christ preached against.

President Truman really did want to help bring the Jewish people back home to Israel in 1947 to help fulfill prophecy. We have helped them since for moral as well as financial reasons.

How do you know that you worship the correct god?

The biggest threat to our country’s future is that we turn our back on God and have His hand of blessing removed.
I seriously doubt the God of Abraham is a vengeful god. Does Franklin think God will now start punishing us?
It's pretty clear in the Gospels that God doesn't work that way.

No. He's putting words in God's mouth because he's insecure.

The idea of the nation-state didn't even exist until 1648 with the Peace of Westphalia, so what we refer to as a nation (legal entity with physical boundaries) isn't what nation literally meant at the time of these translations (a group of people). The nation referred to in Psalms is, in my humble opinion, the group of people who believe that God is the Lord.
Careful now. You're using logic and being historically accurate.

Ralph have you read Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Jeremiah?

You need to know your history. Israel was created by secular socialist Jews from Europe. Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox Jews are the biggest free loaders on the planet. They get exempt from military service and they get paid to study to be rabbis.

Not really, but these days it might not be a bad idea...

We are allied with Israel for a multitude of reasons. One of those would be that the US has 51% of the global Jewish population... more than Israel itself. And many Jewish families have done well here and money talks. Throw in the fact that evangelical Christians see modern day Israel as a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy.
As far as our elected leaders being evil... I don’t know the hearts of all politicians, but I believe that everyone’s hearts are prone to self deception and untruthfulness.
