It's stupid how we track the number of total cases and not the number of active cases.
Who gives a crap about the total. Which antibody testing is showing is only a small fraction.

Infectious mortality rate is the indicator that tells us how severe it is.
The Stanford study is showing that we are looking at a .2% infectious mortality rate - about equal to Swine Flu.
For this, we are shutting down screenings, elective surgery, and the entire economy. Keep in mind that under a normal day, thousands of people go to their primary care doctor and ultimately get diagnosed with something awful - like breast cancer. Those people are not getting the treatment they need now. Early detection isn't happening while our medical system has a narrow "covid" focus.
The cost of shutting down is too fricking high.
And you may as well ignore the case mortality rate, as almost half of all patients don't seek treatment and are not tested. Infectious mortality rate is the important number - and that paints a picture of a disease as severe as flu, but much more easily spread.
We need to isolate the vulnerable, get PPE to our health care workers, and start reopening things like day cares and restaurants fricking right now. And elective procedures and testing needs to restart ASAP.
