Tootsie only cooks on Saturday.

I’ve had her brisket, ribs, smokes sausage and a bottle of rub shipped and all of it was gone in a few days. The rub is absolutely delicious.

When I tried to order more, I found out you can’t just buy the rub. She makes you total out a minimum order of $100 or whatever before you can add it to the cart.

Pele wait at Franklin's and there is some hot place outside of Fort Worth people line up for. Owned by a group of bbq hippies.

Yep. And in Fort Worth, you also get lines at Daynes and Panther City.

FW BBQ has made big strides in the last few years. Texas Monthly Top 50: Goldees (1), Panther City (10), with Hurtado, Smoke a Holics and Daynes also making the top 50.

You can order ahead and skip the line at every one of these.

True, but at least Franklin you have to order 6 weeks in advance, that is farther out than The French Laundry.

Is it called signature dust? I was able to add that to the cart but for $8 shipping. I’m a sucker for trying new rubs

I saw a video that was "Texas Rubs exposed" and said that the majority of the top places including Goldees and Franklin use a rub they is mostly made up of Lowrys seasoning salt.

The line starts at snows at probably midnight-1am. So they actually wait 7-8 hours.

bullshite. The way they make Brisket is very hard to do yourself. We aren’t talking ribs or pulled pork here.

I have just never found BBQ worth waiting for that long. It isn’t that hard to cook and find people are more snobs about “good BBQ”.

The only BBQ worth waiting for is the BBQ I cook/smoke myself.

Every major city in TX as always place like this, some fruity magazine made Franklin's famous for it. Killeen's BBQ in Pearland always has a line for lunch and dinner too. Never understood the desire to wait as it never as good as you are told.

Fire up the crockpot, Susan. It's pulled pork night!

Use to show up at 7 AM, drink the free beers, and the line was only 15 deep. Not sure when this 1 AM stuff started.

Snow’s use to allow you to call an order in on Friday. I would roll up at 9 AM, grad order and go.

This. Brisket is a bitch to get right. You can follow every recipie to the T and still mess it up.
How you trim and prepare. When you wrap it. There are so many variables. I'm not afraid to admit I haven't got brisket down yet. And it's too damn expensive to try often.
For that price I'd rather get some oyster sacks and grill or get crawfish or crabs.

Had relatives sit in line at Franklin’s in Austin for a couple of hours. You sit, drink beer and socialize. The BBQ was awesome. They brought me some afterward.

If you are willing to be up at 5am and sit around for 5 hours and wind up smokey smelling you should probably learn to smoke meat because those are the hardest parts of doing it.

With the advent of electric smokers, any retard can smoke a decent brisket these days in their backyard.

Franklin's has that reputation. I watched a youtuber wait in line there, ordered a bit of every meat they had, and some sides, it all fit on one large tray, and he said he paid a little more than $400. I love good BBQ, but not that bad. Make my own.

We rope off a section of the sidewalk and set up ladders several days in advance. People say we’re moronic retards but you want to be in the front of that line!
