I mowed over a nest of those bastards when I was about 10-11, we counted 73 sting marks
Somehow my dad, my best friend and I managed to park a Big Red 3 wheeler on top of the entrance hole to a yellow jacket nest in the ground. Of all places to park in a deer field, we manage to park on top of that quarter sized hole. They were fricking pissed 10 minutes later when we moved. My uncle came back to see the 3 wheelers running on top of a hill with no one on them. Then he followed a trail of clothes to find us at the bottom of a hill in our underwear covered in red welts

I've been stung by a wasp when I was 8 years old and have managed to not get stung by anything since then by being a massive bitch and running from stinging insects
Same here
From that point on I refused to let those frickers get me again

Paper wasp stings effect me more than red wasps. I was fishing the marsh one time and one tagged me on the top of the foot. My foot was still hurting like hell 12 hours later

Worst sting I’ve ever had and don’t even know what it was. Sitting in chair in backyard minding my own business, not bothering a soul. Something stung the hell out of me right in the forehead. It was a horrible pain and never even saw the damn thing. And I’ve been stung so many times but that was the worst.

The wing less hornet, also know as a velvet ant.
I like a dumb arse trying to show off picked one up and that thing hurt 100 times more than any sting I have ever had.
I've been stung by everything including women.

Not reading all the replies, but this damn Yellowjacket bit/stung me in between my thumb and finger and it hurt and was inflamed for days.
Same goes with a fire ant bite in between the toes.
I think sometimes it’s more about where you are stung then what stings you
In some cases

Red wasps are worse than yellow jackets and bees imo
Much worse.
Couple years ago I got tagged by 7 yellowjackets, including on the neck and throat. Not nearly as bad as one of those big red wasps.
And non-venomous snake bites don’t hurt nearly as bad as a bee/wasp.

To me Yellowjackets hurt the worst, then Hornets then Bumble Bees.
For me it's the damn horsefly that was the worst.

Have been stung by yellow jackets, red wasps, honey bees, and a bumble bee. Never been stung by a hornet.
I would rank wasps and yellow jackets comparable as most painful and bumble bees at least.

Been stung and bit by most of the critters that bit and sting in the south.
I closed a flower on a bumble bee and that fricker tagged me through the petals. I say they worse than the red wasp, guinea wasp or any wasp. Then yellow jackets and then Hornets.
But something that trumps them all is a stinging caterpillar and its not even close. Got popped while I was climbing a pear tree. Never been popped by something like that again. I still feel that bitch

Having been bitten by most of them, hornets were the worst.
Then, a week ago, I had a centipede bite. It hurt so bad at first that it took my breath away. And then it kept on hurting as I ran cold water over it and grabbed baking soda.
The soda worked slowly and the sting hurt less, but it was the longest sharpest sting I've ever known.

Never been stung by a bumble bee. Regular honey bees are probably the least painful of the bees/wasps that have peppered me. Still pretty damn painful. Paper wasps are worse. They get me at least a few times per year. The worst I’ve experienced are yellow jackets. The only stings that have made me physically jump up and down and cry out in pain. Total slapstick comedy for onlookers.

The thing with yellow jacket stings is they last for days. It feels like you had a ten penny nail removed and it’s still bruised and tender.

No one has mentioned guinea wasps. I’ve been stung on multiple occasions by these little devils, usually messing around hedges.

Been eat up with all kinds my whole life it seems but don't recall ever pissing off a bumble bee enough to get me
Had a hornet crawl into my boxers and sting me on the inside of my thigh close to my crotch while sleeping at an old lake cabin & thought I had been shot. Was by far the worst to me & swelled my leg up for quite a while
Was trimming hedges years back and unknowingly stood on top of a large ground nest of yellow jackets that immediately commenced to whooping my arse. For some reason they seem to always target me in the temple or near the eyes. Dropped the hedge trimmers while still running after I had just filled it up with fuel right next to the nest. They chased me down the street like Kamikazes hellbent on attacking. Only way I found to calm them down enough to get my trimmers back was to use the water hose to drop some rain on them.
Ran over another nest cutting grass and somehow only got stung by one but it was directly into my left jugular. Felt the warmest burn from the venom entering my bloodstream
Red wasps seem to be a more painful singular sting than the yellow jackets to me but the yellow jackets are more than likely going to be numerous when they get me
I've got a dime-sized hole on the outside of my lower leg from a Brown Recluse spider. Ate the flesh away and hurt like bloody hell.
Horseflies can go to hell too

Ground hornets are the worst. I had four or five hit me in the back of the head and neck while cutting grass one day and it felt like hot pokers for quite a while.
