The sports car world is changing in a similar fashion. Crs that were never sold with automatics now have cars sold with automatics out numbering the sticks. Even though the Corvette has always been offered with a manual stick there have been couple of recent model years where none were sold equipped with a manual trans.

Performance cars still have a big 3 pedal following. When manufacturers of cars like the M3 and GT 3 and GT 4 try to wean Americans off of their manuals all hell breaks loose. While sequential boxes are quicker there is something ethereal about a perfect heel/toe dance.

I couldn’t imagine a sports car without a stick. That’s just blasphemy
The whole point of a sports car is they’re fun (and hard) to drive and to master it is a beautiful thing.
It’s the only reason I wish I could get a truck with one. It’s just more fun to drive tbh

I thought about getting my son a manual transmission when I was looking for a truck for him. Best way to keep them off their phones while driving. Ended up with an automatic.

Maybe if you spend a bunch and tune them professionally for exactly how you drive. But for the most part that's simply not true.
If driven properly you can get better gas mileage using a manual, have more torque when needed, and they are cheaper.

Disagree. Pull thirty thousand pounds around 5 to 7 days of the week and then holler at me.
Having manual transmission gives a driver the ability to OPERATE the vehicle instead of drive it.
There's a reason why people who truly pull weight down the highway- whether their vehicle's GCWR is 46,000 pounds or 26,000 pounds- is a manual transmission.

My Tacoma is 12 and is basically the same size as a new one.
This post is wrong.
I love my plastic bed Taco, but it's no where close to a full size truck unless you go back to the 1940's

To answer OP: Ram diesel 2500 and up are the only full size trucks offered with a handshaker
I'd pay extra for a manual. I've only owned 1 and loved it. Even as good as todays automatics are they still piss me off with horribly timed upshifts and they're obsession with getting to 6th gear before I get to 40 mph. And this is in a brand new HD truck.
Eta: I've done an experiment the last 2 days with my truck, a 2018 F250. One day I made it shift like I wanted and averaged 11.8 mpg on the day dragging the boat. The next day i put it in tow/haul and let it go whatever it wanted. 11.0 mpg on the same trip. Automatics are dumb.

Front to back. Colorado’s are the same size as older full size trucks, it’s the width that gives the older trucks more size inside.
I was just glad that I got a full size f-150 for the same price as a smaller truck

The Ram 2500/3500 still do for now. I believe it's going away next year.

a 2000 GMC sierra 3 door access cab had a 143.5" wheel base and a 78" bed. Brand new, this cost $36,392 in today's dollars
a 2019 Toyota Tacoma access cab has a 140.6" wheel base and a 73.2" bed. and costs $32,888 MSRP
Basically the same damn truck give or take 3" - 5". Your move, waterloo.

Paddle shifters can change gears a lot quicker, and still give you the ultimate decision as to what gear the car is in.

But since mid size trucks are pretty much the size of half ton trucks from 20 years ago and are more than capable for most people I am digging the new Jeep Gladiator, which offers a manual.
