Diversity and inclusion merit badge for rank of Eagle Scout

The Boy Scouts of America have implemented a specific "diversity and inclusion merit badge" in support of the Black Lives Matter movement that will be required to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout going forward.
"The Boy Scouts of America stands with Black families and the Black community because we believe that Black Lives Matter," the letter said. "This is not a political issue; it is a human rights issue and one we all have a duty to address."
“I think this is a big deal to the extent that all these traditional, Christian-oriented organizations are trying to get their houses in order with regard to systematic racism,” Alvin Tillery Jr., a political science professor at Northwestern University told NBC News. “This is an organization that is super-embattled and they’ve had to adopt more progressive stances because nobody wants to have anything to do with them.”

And that’s it for Boy Scouts. The kids that do this don’t want to deal with woke BS. Only ones left will be city boy scouts who go “camping” in their backyard. Either that or the badge will become a pencil whipped type issue.

So just like NASCAR, instead of identifying who they are and not trying to be what they aren’t, they are going to kill what’s left of their core business chasing demographics that will never have anything to do with them.
And it’s likely because some NY/west coast marketing or consulting firm sold a leadership group that wasn’t part of their initial success a phantom vision of a business plan that has zero chance to succeed because they are ignorant of their customer base.

I agree wholeheartedly. I was told last night at our meeting that the person teaching this badge had to submit three resumes to the scouts in order to qualify to teach the badge. Luckily the person teaching is a very conservative mother. I advised them I would be present for all of the course.

Also, how popular are scouts these days? I feel like I never see/hear about them much anymore. shite, I barely know any girl scouts that sell cookies anymore even. I guess I assumed scouts were a dying breed anyway.
