At this point BRPD needs to be dismantled and the sheriff if he has any balls should take over. This dept can no longer protect and serve the community.
The sheriff is held to public scrutiny by being elected by the people.
If this metro council form of government is suppose to reduce duplication cost then why have a BRPD and a sheriffs dept. Why do we have separate BRFD and separate fire districts around this parish. We should have one dept.

I know this from my cousin that is BRPD.
The chief has removed every white supervisor in every division and placed a black supervisor in their place.
And look at what happened in narcotics. Ardoin kept his job and the white detectives were punished severely

What you saw is just the tip of the iceberg of what I have heard and believe is occurring by the leadership of that agency.
The disparity in discipline is massive and is motivated along racial lines. The Deputy Chief mentioned in this article is the former President of the Magnolia Peace Officer association, a fraternal organization almost exclusively made of Officers of color. He is also rumored to be heavily involved with the local NAACP and some believe he has been an informant for them for years.
Many believe that individual has used his position unfairly to protect Magnolia members from discipline while harshly targeting non-Magnolia (white) Officers.
They’ve become the exact person that they have spent the past 60 years trying to over come. Advancing one race at the expense of another.
The payroll fraud cover up was the most eye opening portion of yesterday’s story. I expect the Department of Justice to open inquiries soon.
I hope it was all worth it, but sadly history has shown it never is. Ulterior motives and hidden agendas are almost always exposed at this level.

Somebody did lose their job. Dauthier and the guy with the strange name that fought to be unfired to clear his name and get his back pay and then resigned. That's why we're here.

You really think equality is what it’s been about? It started that way and many, many black people still want and work for this.
It turned into being about revenge for many more, though. Period. You’re seeing that play out in real time right now.

So it's just a coincidence that the homicide rate is double last year and every other city-parish statistic is updating except law enforcement? Gotcha
