There's more, the IA detective heard in the interview, his dad was an attorney who was indicted for making false statenents (perjury), and he was the defense attorney for the a-hole responsible for the murders at Calendars restaurant. Guess the apple falls right next to the tree.

Baton Rouge is such a fricking cesspool. It's a damn shame what's happened to that city in such a short time. Same can be said for most of the entire country though, really.

Myron has essentially been the chief. He’s the one who makes all of the decisions behind the scenes. Anytime Murphy Paul would send a letter department wide, it would be disseminated from Myron’s work email. He has burnt many many bridges to get where he is and he doesn’t care one bit.

BRPD, especially Narcotics, has been corrupt for at least the last 20 years, this is nothing new. When Frank Caruso was head of narcotics his practices were completely abysmal. The community was shocked and horrified when Terry Melancon was killed, Neil Noel shot in the knee and Dennis Smith in the head when serving the warrant on Gergely Deval. As someone who witnessed their professionalism first hand it did not come as a surprise. Should those officers have been injured or died? No. They were doing their job.
But from I what I witnessed they were not respectable, professional and they acted like cowboys above the law.
Furthermore, there are laws and rules concerning performance and evidence. When you have a warrant for a house and go in on a no knock warrant and videotape what happens inside the house that evidence should never be released before trial. But Caruso did. He showed video of a raid to his son and his friends. Funny enough, it was when Caruso’s son was in a drug treatment center with the people that were the victim of the raid, Can you imagine walking into a “confidential therapy session” with people telling you they saw your raid go down. Give you details about where you were sitting and what you said? Laughing that you were so scared you couldn’t admit your Miranda rights. Yet, you were there in a treatment facility getting help.
We all balk at the news coming out that BR Narcotics is corrupt and we are throwing out thousands of cases but it is nothing new. The problem has been there there for years.
