2 kids meals and 2 basic cheeseburger combos cost $41.

We usually get lunch out after church. About the only non-chain options are Mexican. The bill for the 4 of us to get sh!tty Mexican is now around $50 before tip. That same meal was around $38 a year ago.

What’s funny is you’re actually getting it cheap. It costs me 30 dollars to eat Mexican alone. But I order a quesadilla with shrimp chicken and steak and get loaded nachos as appetizer.

I spent 70 dollars last night at a local restaurant for a ribeye, loaded potato, salad and dozen tamales to split with the gf.

Thought the same thing. Fast food (chick fil-a) for my family of 4 is $40. Sit down usually is $100 every time.

Backyard burger has always been 30-50 percent higher than other fast food chains

I can get a large stuffed crust supreme with wings under 40. Not delivered though. Go pick it up yourself, the first thing I do when you have inflation and don’t want to cut out things you like is figure out how to cut out unnecessary costs for convenience. Paying for delivery is one of these things. It’s not hard to drive 5 min and pick up a pizza to save 10-15 bucks

If you went to eat a sit down restaurant by yourself and got a full meal with entree, side, a non-water drink, and tipped and the total ended up being $10-$12 would you call that absurdly expensive?

Aren't too many places you can do this without eating the cheapest thing on the menu.

Taking out the extreme high and low priced items, 10-12 bucks for a meal has already been the average price for a while, and that's drinking water, not necessarily including the tip.

Gotta get the specials or delivery pizza is expensive. We got 2 larges(1 specialty and 1 two topping) for $25 a few nights ago

Really sucks too. My wife and I love to go out and grab some food and a drink. Would eat out a couple times a week. Down to once a week now, just not worth it.

With a one and three year old, we limit our dining out to 5pm at the local Mexican joint. It's pretty cheap still, except I always tip 30% for hazard pay.
