Some of it certainly does. Make no mistake that the hormuz and now red sea issue is the vast majority of the cause.
The west coast cracks are not a result of Europe not having diesel. It is a result of East Asia not having oil.

What if we saw the vast majority of long haul trucks being operated in the right lane only at 55 mph by autonomous driving systems. Slowing trucks to 55 does cut consumption significantly. They could operate 24/7. Put a man in the cab to fuel/load/unload.
Think how much more pleasant a road trip would be without aggressive truckers plugging all lanes passing each other.
