Did you get your HS senior ring turned?

My kid’s HS ring day is fast approaching so my sister asked to save her a turn. My daughter (no picks you sick bastards) had no clue what she was talking about so we explained to her that you had family and friends turn your ring a full turn, while on your finger, the number of times equal to the year you’re graduating. She had no clue what we were talking about and apparently it’s not a tradition at her school.
Did y’all have a senior ring turning tradition at your school? What other traditions did y’all have besides turning your ring 1/2 way around and slapping the freshmen on top their heads?

I’ve never even heard of this tradition, but I went to an all boys school. Maybe this is more of a girls thing.
This wasn’t limited to freshmen. Everyone could get it

I did. Approximately 1000 years ago. The last person to turn it was supposed to be your favorite person and turn it the opposite direction of everyone else to “lock it”. It was dumb. (My now-husband/then-boyfriend “locked” mine, fwiw.)

Beats the crap out of me, I graduated almost 30 years ago. I am pretty sure my senior year girlfriend was the last person with my ring. Maybe it's in the pocket of my letterman.

We did not have that tradition. We didn't need it. Our school colors were black and gold so our rings look better than everyone else's.

At the beginning of senior year we got a little Pom Pom ring to wear until we got our real ring
After we got our rings at the ring ceremony - we ran through the halls to get our ring turned
