I will add, I’m not sure why the answer to “I’m tired of dealing with California’s shiite” is “Move to Austin”. It’s California politics with hotter weather and cowboy boots.

Of course. That's the whole reason why hosts stay in LA and NYC.
It'll pickup some once the lockdowns are over. He pays for his guests' airfare and hotel. I'm guessing he will occasionally fly to LA to do a string of interviews and come back.

He hasn't had anyone exciting since the new year. While I haven't listened to any episodes the past two week or so, I noticed most of them have been just over 2hrs, while a lot of his shows go close to or over 4 hrs.
I know in December him, Dave Chappelle and several other comedians were doing shows.
He has mentioned opening up a comedy club in Austin and I don't think he was fully moved to Austin when he started doing his show there so he might be doing some other shite and just squeezing some people in right now that he can do a shorter show for the time being.. But as many people who want to be on his show, I am sure he will have some better guest coming up.
And as for as people saying Spodify is holding him back or whatever. He has free range. The head of Spodify listens to his show and wanted to sign him because he liked it and told him to keep doing what he does.

Like someone else said, I used to put it on YouTube on tv every time a new ep came out because I work from home. Since he moved to Spotify I haven’t listened to a single episode. I’m too lazy to go get another app for one show.

I used to fly by his show 3-4 times a week but haven't since he moved , I work from home and listen to a lot of podcast/Netflix/Amazon/HBO etc etc.
The new studio sucks and it seems like he started trying to hard after his deal (human nature) .
It seemed better when he acted like he didn't give a frick if people liked it or not.

I already pay for Pandora and YouTube Premium

Now I didn't care enough to go see what the catch is, because I'm sure there's a catch

There’s actually a pretty fricking big answer to that one

I look at his recent list of guests and don’t have any interest at all in it.

Spotify has to approve his guests.
I mean he got Alex Jones on during that time.

The recent Fogel interview was really good.

Nah he screwed up going to Spotify. frick all these ads you'll skip only to have them replay again. Then ads in the middle of the podcast too.

Seems the guest lineup has gone down. Figured it would be harder to consistently get good guests compared to when show was in California.
He messed up because he thought he was getting away from California, when Austin IS California with a fake twang.

I’m a regular listener, but have no interest in shows with other comedians

Definitely easier to find celebs in LA. Doesn’t seem like a smart move.

No catch, they are just trying to all his listeners using Spotify instead of apple podcast.
I don’t like it as much. I can’t figure out how to only download the audio only.

I think his guests have been just as good or better

Yes and no.
With the capitol there, you’ll always have enough conservative presence to keep Austin from going 100% Cali.
I like Austin but you have to target your path and take the chip off your shoulder. And avoid the lower section of 6th St.
That said, the traffic is fricking awful now.
