The quality of food will also be worse, it’s already crap.

The Sonic Brown Bag special used to be a good value. What is it now $15 bucks?

It became a "frick you" principle for me. During the pandemic, when fast food prices shot up by 20 percent overnight it just became a principle thing. Before the increase I could go get a Sonic Bacon Double Cheeseburger meal for 10 bucks. When just the burger went up overnight from 5.50 to 7.50 it kind of bothered me.

Before the increase you could get a large double burger meal for under 10 dollars and then overnight it's creeping toward 15 dollars a light just came on. Why am I spending this amount of money for processed food when I could get three fresh roasted chickens from Sam's or a decent steak from the supermarket? Just have to give up the convenience, but the quality of food goes up. I even started to make my own double cheeseburgers and the fresh ingredients are better, even if it's not easier. It's a little about money, a little about principle, and a little about "frick you". with pricing- for me at least.

I have left turds bigger than that small burger. At least there other options for an upgraded burger.

Here is one hack if you work near a Sam’s Club. Hot Dog Combo and a Slice of Pizza should be right at or under 4 dollars. Your wallet will thank me, but your stomach will hate me with the intergestion and grease.

Or you can just get a hot baked chicken for 5 dollars and eat that.

Took my family out to Mexican yesterday and it would have been cheaper to drive to the border and find a few to cook it for me.

Absolutely they jumped the shark, most fast food is about the same price as any decent sit down restaurant for significantly less quality food.

Food prices are unreal. Mexican for a family of 5, all 3 kids eat off the kids menu is $100.

How many margaritas are you drinking? Adult burrito meals with beans and rice are $10-15 here and kids meals are $5

I’d rather go to BK or McD than spend $100 for a family of four at some disgusting Mexican restaurant

Where are you eating Mexican?

Myself, wife, and kid usually get out for $60-$70 with tip and that usually involves a margarita or two and cheese dip

Don t know where you’re living but Mexican is cheap as hell here. I can feed 6 for less than $75 plus tip.
If your paying $100 then your getting ripped or everyone’s eating steak and shrimp fajitas.

This annoys me because it means they were price gouging before. They could have a profit at lower prices.

A quarter pounder meal is over 10 dollars.

For 10 dollars I can also get a pound of ground chuck (4.50) a pack of buns (2.50), and a 2 liter. As an added bonus, you are eating actual meat and you don't have teenager spit on it.

People need to stop being so goddamn lazy.

man even if you dont want to cook, you can order from just meats for a lbs of precooked meat, combine with rice or potatoes and most families can eat off of that for under $15 per meal

The only fast food I will eat these days is Chick-fil-A. If I’m going to overpay for a meal it better be well made and the line better move quick.

The rest of them will charge you an arm and a leg and you’ll also get to wait for 20 minutes and get inedible food.

Honestly, I don’t even think it’s totally the case here. Fast food shot up so high that you could get good fast casual or affordable still decent real restaurants at the same price.

We got to the point that fast food wasn’t particularly fast in many locations and didn’t save you money… so why sacrifice the quality at that point? If it was at least cheap and quick it had a niche.
