Why? What are you compacting?

Yup, it was under the intercom.

There’s one that I wish we had today. Now we have to yell up the stairs.

My kitchen has one. It lets me avoid taking out the trash for another 15 minutes or so.

The compacters have died off over the years but the lives of the compacter bags lived on as the best backpack liner for the ultralight backpacking community.
Saw them everywhere on the Appalachian Trail ten years ago.

No. My parents had one.

I just installed one in the kitchen. Bought a house with one and wanted to keep the kitchen as close to original as possible. Oddly it was the most expensive appliance behind a sixty inch thermador hood.

I have vague memories of my grandmother having one in the early 2000’s. She always told us to stay away from it because it was “dangerous” haha

We had one until 2-3 years ago.

It was a 70’s thing. I had one. It sucked.

The intercom.
You went over to someone’s house and they had an intercom they were living high on the hog.
A intercom that had an Am/fm radio built in was peak hog.

Parents had one before ida knocked down the whole house. House was built in 1982 so I guess it was period appropriate.

We had one in one of our storage rooms in the carport at the house I grew up in. Parents built the house early 80s and I remember it being old. Assuming it came from my grandparents house.

My folks still have one. Works great. Not sure where dad gets the replacement bags though. I may need to ask in case I inherit it.

My mother still has one in her kitchen and it’s in working order.

My mom had one. The bags for it were expensive.
