Are they expanding or just making it a usable space that can be leased out?
I was told expanding Dicks. I went to F&S before it closed thinking they'd have some good deals but that wasn't the case. I asked an employee and was told they were going to make the Dicks bigger(

He made it sound like about 60% of the F&S would become Dicks and the remainder would be used as storage.
Seems like a waste. That place is a wasteland 90% of the time.

The CEO of Macy's was on CNBC today, and he talked about the gangs of organized criminals stripping the shelves of high end items and selling them on line. They discussed that this was more prevalent in areas that had a higher threshold for what is considered a felony.
As for the comment about stopping theft by hiring a security guard, I'll just say that it's naïve. They come in gangs of dozens. Our government has left it to the retailers to fight this problem alone.

What do you want them to do? Make stealing a crime?

There needs to be some serious legislation protecting retailers from lawsuits by employees and thieves, which can then open up the door to theft enforcement. Right now they're so damn scared of getting sued, they just let people steal shite.

really don't understand how the one in Lafayette remains open, let alone is being expanded into what used to be their Field & Stream store next door. Every time I've gone there's hardly anyone there and you can get the same stuff from the Academy 1/4 down the road for 20% cheaper.
Same in Katy. It’s a nice big spacious store that never seems busy enough to justify the size of the store. It’s never as busy as any Academy. My wife likes it bc it’s like shopping at a Target. I don’t go there bc they don’t have guns and I like guns.

As far as organized stealing, you can pay to stop that too. Hire a cheap security guard.
Most of these stores’ policies wouldn’t allow a security guard to do anything about it… they are so afraid of lawsuits they fire employees who try to stop it.
Until these companies grow a backbone (which they won’t), “inventory shrinkage” will continue.
Too many pieces of shite in this country unfortunately. And they are being allowed to act how they want more than ever.

At some point litigation will be cheaper than the shrinkage.

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want to invest in a company that allows people just to take all the shite that is there to make a profit off of.

The globalists want to get rid of retail shopping as much as possible. Its all about controlling commerce and removing options so you can only buy goods online using central bank digital currency.

You will very quickly see a change in how retail stores stock their shelves

these "thieves" are are just reapportioning yeti tundra 350s to sell and buy formula, diapers, and the bare necessities of life for their dear families.

At this point it’s basically public knowledge that these big stores won’t stop you from stealing for a variety of reasons. Then the police won’t arrest the people and the DAs won’t prosecute them in many places. Pretty sure in California it isn’t even a crime anymore unless you steal thousands of dollars worth of goods.
It’s amazing watching these corporations come to terms with this. Hopefully they defend their merchandise better going forward and people can’t just openly steal whenever they want to.

I was Home Depot the other day and I saw an employee confront a self checkout customer for not scanning a gallon of paint. The customer was a middle age white male

Dick's has been stealing from the vendors they buy products from for years, its about time they got hit back. They'll nickel and dime you with fees for any small little thing to make sure they never actually pay you anything.
Posted on 8/22/23 at 11:54 am to TejasHorn
These stores have “loss specialists” that stand at the door and do nothing.

I remember when Walmart had actual cops at the exits checking receipts. Do they still have that? I haven’t been to a Walmart in a minute.
