Impressed the editors at Yahoo got "dick's" and "snatch" in the same headline.

No love for Dick's from me but this shoplifting is a cancer on society. No one is stealing because they are staving (AOC) they are just greedy lazy scumbags driving up prices for ALL of us. We just need 1-2 store owners to shoot a few of these "scholars" and it will stop but that's not going to happen.

Dicks's Sporting Goods (DKS) stock tumbled more than 20% Tuesday morning after the sporting goods retailer said organized retail crime has cut into its profits.

"Our Q2 profitability was short of our expectations due in large part to the impact of elevated inventory shrink, an increasingly serious issue impacting many retailers," Dick's CEO Lauren Hobart said in the company's second quarter earnings release before the bell on Tuesday.

Well, they took guns off the shelves, so, no threat of being shot

"Honestly Officer I wasn't stealing! I was just elevating inventory shrink."

They also rebranded from Dicks Sporting Goods to Dicks House of Sport which is an awful name.

The correct term is shrinkage. MSM doesn't like to use the term stealing.

So the headline should have read "Dick's victim of shrinkage"

If you are experiencing elevated inventory shrink, ask your doctor if Cialis is right for you.

Many of these flash mob stealing incidents are by the cartels so they can sell the merchandise on the secondary markets like eBay.

I really don't understand how the one in Lafayette remains open, let alone is being expanded into what used to be their Field & Stream store next door. Every time I've gone there's hardly anyone there and you can get the same stuff from the Academy 1/4 down the road for 20% cheaper.

I can see a new headline now - "Shrinkage Affects Dicks"

Their prices suck. If you’re in a big metro area they are the most expensive by a lot

Are they expanding or just making it a usable space that can be leased out?

Given that organized shoplifting is a thing now, maybe it's good that they stopped selling guns. Maybe Academy will put a bounty on shoplifters.

Shoplifting has been around forever. The smiths even wrote a hit song about it.

It sounds like Dicks employees need to stop standing around chatting and looking at their phones. They have terrible in store service and managers from my experience. The Home Depot of sporting goods.

As far as organized stealing, you can pay to stop that too. Hire a cheap security guard.

Which is just the first example of how not to run a big box store. If your prices are higher than similar stores, you have to offer some sort of service or unique offering you can't get anywhere else to thrive. The second was alienating a large portion of your customers with the anti guns stance.

Dick's is a total piece of shite now, unless you are looking for one of the following:

1. Anything - and I mean fricking anything - made by Yeti
2. Columbia fishing blouses
3. Nike socks that all teenagers wear, so long as your teenager's foot is a size M13 or children's medium
4. Duane Johnson's awesome and inspiring workout attire

They have insurance! They aren’t losing anything!
