In related news, Bermuda has spent tens of thousands of dollars over the past couple of months because someone said they saw an Eastern Diamondback on the island. They even brought in a couple of snake tracking dogs and handlers from the US to try to find it, but had no luck.

When I was a kid 50 years ago we were on a family vacation in that area. I was running ahead of the group on the trail and without realizing what I was doing jumped over a giant eastern diamondback on the path so until it moved away there was a rattlesnake between me and the rest of my family.
Could have been that one's great, great, great...grandparent.
