I was convinced in 2015 that our country was doomed and never coming back because Hillary would be elected in 2016.

But then Trump came down the escalator, and everything hanged.

He saved this country, and we’ve had a new lease on life for the last 10 years.

Yes, people change, the people in charge change, we just need to find the next charismatic leader that has the best interest of our country in his heart.

Had to put down something in Texas races- on Paxton at .29, then twice the amount on Abbott at .62 as a hedge. I feel very confident about Abbott.

Basically break even if Abbott wins but Paxton loses, more than double my money if they both win.

I think the Paxton race will be much closer than many of the polls indicate, and hope he takes it.. We’ll see.

From what you say, there seems to be a path forward to remission, that’s a blessing.

I won’t tell you that y’all’s path will be easy, because it won’t be.

But, after doing your duty to help your wife get through this- as I’m sure you will- y’all will be closer than ever. And that’s a blessing.

I speak from experience, but my wife didn’t have as hopeful of a diagnosis as your wife has.

Joanne had what her MD Anderson doctors termed an “Ultra Rare” cancer, that they really had no cure for.

They did what they could, but she was gone 7 months later.

But the time I spent with her, taking her to treatments, nursing her at home- that just made us closer than ever. And is something I will remember forever.

From reading your posts, I get the feeling that y’all have a strong relationship and commitment to each other.

So, my advice and hope is that y’all won’t view this cancer as a curse, but maybe as a blessing. A chance to really strengthen your relationship as you fight it together.

And, after she finishes treatment and rings the bell, y’all will have a bright future ahead of you stretching into the distance.

We’re having a respectable discussion. I’d never downvote a gentleman that cares to have a civil discourse.

I think we may be talking past each other.

My point is that 7% mortgages aren’t an anomaly historically, as some want to claim. That’s probably the new reality.

Yeah, 30 years ago, I had a a 7%, $200,000 mortgage. Which seemed like a lot back then.

Now, the median price of a home has probably doubled since then, but wages have increased greatly too.

I guarantee that I wasn’t working a fast food job to pay my mortgage back then, just as a fast food worker probably can’t afford a mortgage now.

And I maintain that younger people seem to expect more, and I believe it’s driven by what they see online.

Many seem to want it all at an early age, without putting in the hard work to earn it, which has never been easily attainable by the vast majority of the population. Yet, the bitching because it’s not handed to them on a silver platter.

As I said earlier, our priorities after getting married was the house, kids, and friends and family. And betting that our wages would increase over time to make things a little easier. That takes time, and I don’t believe a lot of young people have that patience, without strong parental guidance.

Thankfully, my two kids graduated college in the mid two thousand teens, before the internet craziness really got out of hand.

They both have excelled, and each own homes way bigger than mine.

The American Dream is not dead, but you have to go get it.
