I think it’s a bad idea to let kids too young to legally drink get into places like this. A place like Chimes might be a different matter since it’s also a sit-down restaurant with table service and a lengthy food menu.

I got shitfaced hammered at the Chimes quite often when i was 19 or 20. Having food and a waitress did nothing to deter me from drinking too much.

They have person after person contacting them that they were raped by Kavion Washington in past

So we believe all women again?

Be direct about what you're trying to say then because it seems you're scared of getting trounced. You're the one that compared not believing 30-40 year old rape stories to this young girl's attack and death.

Then it would also be interesting to know who the biggest contributors to the NAACP are.

No shite. I did too. But it was a different environment and my remarks are about mitigating risk (not the impossible zero risk).

i just want to concisely repost president Tate's most important part of his statement.

quote:

As such, our action plan starts with a deep and relentless focus on any establishment that profits off our students by providing alcohol to underage individuals. In the coming days, we will call a meeting with these business owners to discuss how their responsibilities directly impact the safety of our students. We will work openly against any business that doesn’t join us in efforts toward creating a safer environment for our students. Enough is enough.

you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about

You’re not wrong. I have never owned or managed a bar that catered to underage drinkers. Guilty.

I’ll also add that if Washington was twice previously charged for rape, shouldn’t Ard and the DA for Livingston Parish have some explaining to do?

There was a lot of cope posting early on about this not being the fault of the police or the city and that Tate shouldn't criticize the police or the mayor for this, because this was just an isolated drunken situation.

Yet, just like the Rice murder, we all know (or suspect) that the people involved should not have been walking the streets as free people.

If true, this is the kind of thing that Tate should be screaming at the top of his lungs. He won't, though.

This is becoming a tale as old as time. Not specifically for black career criminals, but just career criminals in general. We are way too soft on prosecuting pieces of shite.

It's an abnormal situation when someone is arrested without a record. Every major crime seems to be done by someone who should be locked up. It's fricking ridiculous.

Oh yeah this will work great. Move the drink kids who don't know how to control themselves somewhere that there's no supervision (houses, apartments) or somewhere further from campus which will inevitably be somewhere in the hood because nobody's putting real money into a place frequented by undergrad students with no money to spend.

Nearly every news article has quoted the Judge and him specifically saying he watched the video and he felt a crime had been committed. Hell, the defense attorney called out the Judge publicly yesterday saying the Judge over-stepped his boundaries and should've never mentioned the video when setting bail. The DA viewed a video and he immediately sough to up the charges from 3rd degree rape to 1st degree.

You think that is bad, until this month, Alabama would bond out everyone, and with Covid trial delays we have had revenge killings going on for years.

With the new law we voted in last year, finally we are getting some people to stay n jail.

There is kid who killed a guy at casino last year in a robbery and has been involved in a shooting at Walmart and another downtown since then who would have bonded out this month except for new law.

If I lived in LP, if want some answers. Especially after what we learned about Jason’s boy Perkins

This needs to gain traction. What a track record for LP and Jason Ard.

Question, and it may have been discussed, were these guys seen at Reggie's with her prior to 1 am? I'm hearing she was with friends, realized she was very wasted, needed air or the bathroom and disappeared. Like up until she goes off, she had not interacted with these guys.

Also was she party drugged as well?

Ard was able to worm his way through the Perkins situation completely unscathed. I have no faith in him getting held accountable for anything here.

Nearly all of that is wrong

Start by reading the Op (including the arrest warrant)

the LA drinking age was changed in 1987 there was a loophole that was closed in 1995 that finally ended the 18 to buy I dont remember exactly how it all went down, but I remember distinctly in the Fall Semester of 1993 my roommate at LSU, who was HS class of 91, was unable to drink in LSU area bars because he was 20. I do believe that was a temporary situation in EBR Parish in 1993, so maybe it was the result of one of the MANY lawsuits and stays and injunctions related to the drinking age

The only place that I couldn’t buy drinks at in 93 was Paparazzis and that was just bc their bar had that policy of being 21.

I read earlier that the law changed in Aug 95 so the reason it never effected me was bc I turned 21 that April.

I was never a big fan of tigerland and we mostly went to TX Club, Glen’s, Paparazzi, Center Stage and Southdowns.

ETA…. actually I turned 21 in 1994, not 95, so I think everyone in c/o 91 regardless of bday month wasn’t affected by the age change,

Dumb girl question…

Can the blood alcohol level be increased by other things or is it strictly how much she drank?
