Other things can have an effect on BAC, such as medications.

fwiw, they mentioned she tested positive for THC. that leads me to believe date rape drugs were not used

I think only alcohol bc BAC is blood alcohol content.

Not that I think she was roofied, but what's the connection to weed and not being roofied?

she could have smoked weed or taken an edible or something days before

THC in her system is pretty meaningless

I would think they would mention any other substances in her system if they report her BAC and THC. I could be wrong about that hence the " "

Then why not just say that instead?

holy straw man

From Tate's statement, the first thing in his action plan:

quote:

So what can we do? It is time for action. One place to target our attention is the very place where this encounter began," he added. "All but one of the suspects involved in this horrific scenario were underage yet were able to consume alcohol at a local bar. As such, our action plan starts with a deep and relentless focus on any establishment that profits off our students by providing alcohol to underage individuals.

Nothing straw man about it.

I'd like someone who lives near there to run the arrest records of all of the accused in the Livingston Parish (public record - anyone can do it) just to see what is pending or how other cases went.

Could give those who vote there a better idea of whom to hold accountable if charges weren't pursued.

Does seem the 'pool area rape' story from social media may have been the First Degree (age of victim under 13) that was later reduced to simple rape.

Washington is NOT in the sex offender registry but he could still have a case pending.

Ard was able to worm his way through the Perkins situation completely unscathed. I have no faith in him getting held accountable for anything here.

Agreed. Extremely disappointed that Brandon Browning is no longer running for Sheriff

Kaivon Deondre Washington, 18, who was given a $150,000 bond, bonded out of jail on Thursday, Jan. 26, jail records show.

Brandon Browning wouldn’t be a good candidate for dog catcher much less sheriff.

Surely if he is 18 now, those were likely charges made when he was a juvenile. In many places, you cannot get juvenile records, not sure about LP.

Texas Club. That was a place, near Mall City. They had the BEST drink special. Any Drink, any coin. I loved that. Loaded up on Crown royal for like a dime. We would tip but man that was a memory of binge drinking.

It does. The rape part that is. I said it way earlier in this thread that rapes happen way more than people probably think from the tigerland area. The sad part is the only reason we know about this is because she got hit by a car and killed.

If she didn't get hit, she might not have even remembered or too shy to come forward and these guys would be in the clear to do it again, which they would have.

Truth. I have an acquaintance who got drugged and raped. She woke up the next morning in a park off Airline Hwy. and had no memory of leaving the bar or how she got to the park. Worst part is she found out she was pregnant and she now has a daughter. That to be incredibly tough... when your daughter is to the age to start asking who her dad is, how do you explain it? You don't, I guess. She isn't interested in possibly finding out who it is because she doesn't want to revisit it.

Not an attorney, but I am sure there's guidelines based on the crime and whether or not the accused is a flight risk. I don't think you can just set some arbitrarily high amount.
