I heard that on the morning sports show while taking my kid to school. Very sad.

Terrible. I followed the story without even realizing until this morning I know his mother from Middle school and HS. Good people and just a downright awful nightmare I can't even imagine.

Heat Stroke kills kids every year. It's an actual risk.
We should do all we can to mitigate this

It's literally the most dangerous thing about heat.

Awful story and can't imagine how the kids and coaches feel that witnessed it.

That's horrible news. I had seen some of the prayer vigils and stuff going around on facebook.
It didn't seem like it was crazy hot over the last week, but you just never know how a person's body is going to react in situations like this.

I have a feeling this will be one of those situations where an unknown medical condition is found after the fact. Heat stroke doesn't ultimately cause you to wind up on ECMO.
Just one of those horribly random outcomes that make you sick to your stomach, the pain of those parents must be unbearable right now

They are still doing planned blood drives in his memory
There’s one at The Blood Center tomorrow and one Sunday at Bass Pro
I can’t imagine what his family is going through

Horrible. His mom’s FB post today was heartbreaking.

Tragic. My prayers to that family.
My son is a senior and plays here in central Florida. They now have rules of having to call practice based on heat humidity, just has always been the case for lightning proximity. Not sure if La has that.
Hate to hear this.

To the a-hole downvoting these comments of people paying respect, be a man and show yourself. You are a horrible human being that needs his arse kicked.

Today officially marks the most impossible day in my life. How will I get through life with out you. The love of my life. My baby boy! You could not have been more perfect if you tried. You were loved more than you will ever know. You were the best son, brother, grandson, and friend. I wish I could take your place I don’t want to hear you are in a better place !! You are supposed to be with me. You still had too many things to finish and accomplish. I am mad right now!! Very mad!!!!! This is not fair I just want you back.
I love you more than a human could love another human. I love you to heaven and back my sweet angel ?? Remy Hidalgo

The mom's FB with pictures of him as a small child were upsetting to see. Prayers to the family.
