What are my chances of getting from Houston to Lafayette tomorrow?
You won’t be going over 20 mph

Where can I get current winds and forecasted winds? Trying to see how Shenandoah is looking.

I only left because we made early reservations and my wife was worried about our 3 yr old. Now I'm glad we did. Half the city without power and sounds like the wind is pretty bad

Driving I would think ok. Traffic may be horrible — took people 12 hours to get from Lafayette to Houston on Thursday.
Plan on leaving around 6am to beat the traffic

Weather channel guy at the nugget said he saw one of the big transformers at one of the plants blow. There’s either a plant or part of one of them dark between sections of light

Back side of Laura didn't rain near as much as projected either, it was basically over after the eye passed CENLA

Anyone have links for me to bookmark to check roads before heading back home?

Wind is the story on this storm in Lafayette. Not much rain. perillo said the airport had a gust just shy of the record. I have a few shingles off but that’s about it.
