The hurricane hunters should be forced to take off out of Atlanta for their missions into Delta

I don’t even bother posting Levi updates anymore cause you frickers are too quick. You took away the one thing I did marginally in these threads.

Looks like the winds are catching up to the pressure. 977 low end cat one is uncommon.

Hurricane Hunters apparently has some extra tax payer funds to spend

sending a 2nd plane out to Delta with another plane already in the storm

esp. this far out

They have been doing extra recon of late geared toward research. They did it with the first Bermuda storm earlier this season. They likely won't be flying any missions that are solely research based, but I'm betting they devote some time to it. At least over the next couple days.

I realize this is semantics, but I always imagined every recon mission had some research component to it.

Awe...don't kick yourself like that. You're the Official BINGO card developer and the Gatekeeper of the Cone.

I refreshed a couple of times to see if anyone was in the process of posting and didn't see it

Yea, it has really struggled with the tropics this season. It's been slow to spin up systems, been too weak, and too west, esp. the EPS. However, with Delta it is on the western edge of guidance but it isn't a total outlier like it was with Laura.

Of course they do. But, this season there have been a couple of specific research projects that have gotten substantial time granted to them.

I'm just speculating on this flight, though.

Man, I can't imagine how bad this would be if it hit Lake Charles with all of the debris everywhere. Hope my house can survive twice if that's the case.

Going to be a lot of tarps gone too.

The star is from earlier but you can see that so far winds have been lagging behind pressure drops vs. climo.

Nice chart. One of the few weather charts I’ve ever seen you post that is intuitive.
