River Ranch in Lafayette is nice, but it won’t be nice after tomorrow. Very Unfortunate.

I'll settle it then.

Every coastal area in Louisiana has been rekt by a hurricane at least twice in the last 30 years.

esus frick.. this the classic I don’t give a frick about your area as long as it doesn’t affect me. I still question why this shite is happening. Lake Charles doesn’t deserve this. No one does. This is the third type of this sick twisted type comment.. others came from New Orleans folks. New Orleans dodges every bullet imagined yet lake Charles takes it up the arse. And the media doesn’t give a F. You had the weather channel reporting from New Orleans yesterday saying New Orleans is fatigued. Give me a break. want to talk fatigued Paul Goodloe, go ask people in the lake Charles area about fatigue. What does New Orleans have to do with this storm. The media and their obsession with New Orleans.

You need to chill out bud. Have a drink.

But this storm isnt what Laura was. It would be significantly less damage to a baton rouge area than going to LC again where most are still dealing with roof damage. Another storm is going to cause twice the amount of damage here than it would a city that hasnt been hit so no its not logical to say that. Its basically saying it better that itll rip of the existing damaged roofs and finish off those peoples houses than take a few of my shingles off mine.

That’s a good point that I hadn’t thought about, A weak storm hitting an undamaged location would have a slight impact; whereas in a heavily damaged area it would be harder hit. That’s true.

Nola got the surge, but I’ve never seen complete and total destruction like the Mississippi coast got. It was like someone dropped a bomb that evaporated everything within a half mile of the coast.

Can we quit with the “my hurricane was rougher than your hurricane” dick measuring contest and at least try to focus on Delta?

Not to derail this, but I thought Katrina's path brought surge to lake Ponchartrain and then south into the city due to shifting winds from being on the west side. Would it not have pushed surge north had Nola been on the east side? Obviously wind damages would have been worse. I genuinely don't know if I remember this correctly so just asking.

If Katrina makes landfall 30 miles Westward nola would have been wiped off the map like Waveland was

HWRF shows a pretty rapid decrease in organization on final approach.

To follow up on this point:

And

Shear plus dry air opens it up just before landfall. Notably the pressure doesn't drop much even as the hostility gets to the core.

Winds don't drop a lot, but I'm looking at 850 mb. You'd imagine as the whole thing gets disrupted not as much of that wind would make it to the surface.

Seems to me, a fairly reasonable conclusion.

The people that got shafted for Katrina was the Mississippi Gulf Coast. They didn’t get near the love nor per capita funding compared to New Orleans.
