Don’t let the door hit you in the vagina on the way out then.

as far as overall surge and winds Nola got lucky.

The extreme worst case scenario for Nola would be a slow moving, major hurricane approaching from the southeast (moving WNW) where the eye comes onshore over St. Benard parish.

That would push a ton of surge into Lake Pontchartrain as the storm moved inland. Then as the storm headed north, directional wind change from the north/northwest would push water back towards the city.

Only in regards to his tweet. He's leading the way on most everything these days.

Jack Sillin isn't too far behind him.

Thanks again I downloaded it. I see the radar fine. The article gave distance from Cameron. I’m 62. I want a position and heading like if I was in a boat. That’s what I am used to.

Have an elderly family member in Eunice that doesn’t want to leave

That area is VERY likely to lose power. Unless they can handle that, I would tell them to leave.

Lots of bickering and a few posters make the profound claim that it’s better for the heavily damaged LC area to get hit again instead of another area.

It's not unexpected. The NHC had it getting back to a 3. What matters is the last 12 hours and if the dry air can get worked in there by the shear soon enough to disrupt the circulation. Stronger it is, the longer that process takes but it should happen to some extent regardless. Just hoping it pulls a Lili and fades rapidly by the coast.

Wasn’t this expected? A slight intensification followed by a weakening approach?
