Early 12z models shifted slightly east back toward White Lake:

Delta looks like it's starting to wrap those big convective bursts around its center of circulation. Indicates some strengthening and probably will have us see the eye pop out in a few hours.

Ive also been terrible with calling strengthing phases with this one so, take this for what little it's worth.

Well..PeeJ DID say that this storm would blow up once it entered the GOM

Gotta get them big power still. Nisco is having trouble getting water for steam still. It’ll be a little while still.

Good point. Doesn’t matter if the facility is structurally ready to run if you don’t have power.

As a long term lurker I appreciate the comic relief in-between informative posts. Thanks to the experts for keeping us informed! Y’all have been clutch during these storms

Solid first post. Enjoy the upvote. But know that it's all downhill from here.

Need to move to Deridder.
I think Laura came through with 140 mph winds in DeRidder, at least the pine trees all over seem to prove it

I know the PJ curse isn't a real thing. I'm not dumb.

But it is still quite impressive that:

-PJ says it would blow up once it hit the GOM

-In the Caribbean, storm proceeds to blow up from depression to Cat 4 in the fastest time on record in the Atlantic Basin

-In the GOM, storm proceeds to come in way under the strength forecasts at every point so far

Maybe it is real? No, no, I'm not dumb, but just maybe?

My house had minimal damage from Laura so I should be sitting pretty if that’s the case

Lake Charles will be on the West side....Iowa and Jennings would see the brunt of this if the current track holds true

Just pray you don't have a debris tornado. That's my only concern. That and the fact that I finally got Suddenlink to hook me back up yesterday.

I’m lucky on that end, brand new DSLD neighborhood so no trees and no piles of debris.
