I know the PJ curse isn't a real thing. I'm not dumb.

But it is still quite impressive that:

-PJ says it would blow up once it hit the GOM

-In the Caribbean, storm proceeds to blow up from depression to Cat 4 in the fastest time on record in the Atlantic Basin

-In the GOM, storm proceeds to come in way under the strength forecasts at every point so far

Maybe it is real? No, no, I'm not dumb, but just maybe?

Is "talking about bingo" a square on the bingo card?

I’m lucky on that end, brand new DSLD neighborhood so no trees and no piles of debris.

In Carlyss? That neighborhood faired fairly well with Laura.

Then I must be wrong.

Duke, question here. Are the western shifts in the models due to the storm not being as strong as expected at this point? i.e. a stronger storm would have interacted with the high ridge over texas sooner and pushed it farther east?

I had no idea they were building in Moss Bluff. I saw Sulphurs finest and assumed there because they are building that massive one in Carlyss.

I fly out of Houston 10:30 AM tomorrow. What are the odds of that being delayed? Have never found myself flying while getting hit by bands.

Does it stay put or start slowly sliding back east?

Doubt it moves much based on 1 gfs run. The other 6 AM models didnt shift much.

Im surprises at the lack of Hurricane Hunter data posted. Seems like we get new pressure and wind readings every 30 min when a storm gets in the gulf that tells us if it’s gettibg stronger or weakening in between NHC updates.

Are they flying this storm less frequently or are the usual posters who follow that info just caught up in the bickering too much?

As a long term lurker I appreciate the comic relief in-between informative posts. Thanks to the experts for keeping us informed! Y’all have been clutch during these storms

I've grown to appreciate most of it.
For some reason I still get annoyed at the assholes who shite post in every storm thread about the models not having landfall within 15 miles of the prediction five days out. And I hate the stupid arse cone pissing matches.

Yep built off North Perkins. I was skeptical about buying a house like this but it did awesome in the storm and DSLD hooked us up with their contractors for vinyl and things like that.

Can’t say one bad thing about them or the work they do
