Br is projected to get 80 mph winds. That’s fricked for br standards when the max ever in br was 86. (Someone posted max wind record in br in here earlier)
that’s sustained winds. BR has had higher gusts nearing 100 during Gustav and Betsy

Can anyone compare the speed that this hurricane is moving to Gustav? Seemed like Gustav was slow moving and high winds sustained in BR went on forever. Is same expected for Delta?

I didn’t live here for Gustav but was here for Andrew and those winds whipped for HOURS. Was gustav worse than Andrew?

A lot of dry air waiting to get sucked in from western Gulf.

Interesting on the operational since the ensembles mean was basically unchanged.

Yes. Should go a bit more N and then more W as it enters the Gulf later on tomorrow.

Gustav was much worse than Andrew for me. But Andrew threw tornadoes and that’s what really damaged my house.

How accurate is this? Reason I’m asking is we are 158 pages in and it’s the first time I’ve seen someone mention dry air.

I pretty clearly said my bet had nothing to do with my confidence or lack thereof in the track moving one way or the other.

Have to wait for the VDM to pin it but it looks like the last fix was basically right on top of the last NHC forecast track.
