Cantore going down the hill on the sled in Houston was actually pretty funny. Got some distance and sparks flew as he went over the sidewalk.
If only he would have face-planted on that sidewalk.

Go check spots on your driveway that had heavy foot traffic today. That slush you made with your feet has been left alone for hours and is now solid ice.

Don't believe temperatures can drop below dew point

The day(s) after - depending on the amount, temperatures and canopy - were always worse than the day of. It will likely take a couple of days - elevated surfaces tend to take a bit longer to thaw - they freeze first for a reason

If you are talking about roads if cars and trucks actually drove on it there will be ice. By a variety of methods cars and trucks melt snow on roads as they drive over them,
I'm really in a jam and need to travel a little around Metairie some tomorrow. I left my work laptop at my parents and need to get that. I also really would also like to get to Ochsner to see a family member in the hospital. About 5-6 miles for each trip.
Am I to assume the earlier the better if I'm going to try to do this?

I think later would be better? Just walked around Lakeview a bit and Harrison is a block of ice from cars driving on it today. It will be a block of ice all night and into morning. Maybe by the afternoon the temperature and traffic will have turned it into a wet rather than frozen road?
But roads across the city are just going to be all ice tomorrow morning.

NO! There will be no one going out early and it is going to be cold as hell (I just looked at the forecast. It will be like a skating rink early, even seasoned winter drivers would avoid that if at all possible. The fact the sun will be out is good and you climb above freezing a little before twelve. If it were me and just based on the forecast and not being able to see the roads I am planning to leave put around noon and be finished by 5pm. If it is going to take well under 4 hours to get things done start later, based on the forecast the roads will be their best all day tomorrow at about 5. Triple your normal travel time for the errands and don't frick around just wave at mom as you breeze in at out etc. The 2-5pm time shouldn't actually be too bad but pay attention to shadows roadways in the shade aren't getting that radiant heat from the sun (well they are just much less) and they can be hiding a surprise. Go slow, you added the extra time. Use Waze etc to avoid shutdowns and accidents but don't let it route you down back alleys or small roads that may still be in bad shape. Don't let the jackass in the monster truck bully you into driving faster. Pay attention to your arse it will tell you what the car is doing well before you see it and feel it with your hands just like hitting deep water in rain. Stay focused, don't be texting your road whore or posting pictures on TD of your adventure. It ain't rocket surgery as long as you pay attention and be serious. Only drive as fast as you are willing to hit a brick wall/ You'll be fine.

About 5-6 miles for each trip.

No, the window will be 2pm-6pm and preferably 3pm-5pm, the help will come from (hopefully) maximum sun and if there are knuckleheads driving, the tires and warm cars may help to expedite the snow melting (it will still be slush in a lot of places).
I'd plan on those times to do what you need to do out on the roads.

Anyone in JP see the sky outside right now? It’s basically blue. Uncanny as hell.

Woke up to take a piss like a racehorse and fortunately flush a toilet and saw that it’s already 8 degrees at the Baton Rouge airport.

13 degrees right now in Ascension Parish.

It’s kinda neat looking at radar with the snow becoming rain once the system is over water.
