Does anyone know if they ever close the Spillway Bridge between Baton Rouge and New Orleans due to freezes? I’m supposed to be flying out of MSY Tuesday morning….

If that includes Atlanta that would be a total disaster. Esp if it has ice with it.

It will close if it is iced over.
You can take airline.

They always "forget" to close i10 in grosse tete.
As a result, I drive past all of the troopers blocking on ramps and I'm usually the first vehicle across the bridge.
Last time was sketchy

All the while in LC, we have a NWS posting saying that winter precipitation is more than likely while our local weatherman does nothing but ever say “oh, nothing is going to happen.” “Don’t pay attention to models that you see elsewhere! Just my one that says there will be nothing!”
You are correct. Rob Perillo on KATC said this was the best set up for winter precip in years. KLFY said the bubble for winter precip had busted...lol

Thanks. I was thinking this would end up being my only option. I’ll just have to account for the extra travel time

KPLC in LC was with KLFY about basically being dry cold also. We will see

i was reading about 1895 the other day. They claim 22" in Houston
i don't know how that's possible other than the mythical Gulf of Mexico effect snow

Sounds like both channels are trying to be the one to get it right on a 50/50 proposition, INSTEAD OF REPORTING THE DAMN WEATHER.

Gulf of America, baw.

But this isn’t 1895 anymore… things would not have effected as much back then like it would these days.

Has been the case for years..
They'll even take jabs at each other like "we're not as quick to trust some of these models as maybe some other people in the area"
I enjoy KLFY if only to listen to the guy occasionally shite on that stupid GRAF model that Perillo convinced KATC to buy

I like reading the NWS forecast discussions
It's been "yeah we still don't know, sorry" for a week

KLFY is always the voice of reason. They lay out all the scenarios but they don’t try to alarm people.

15 inches in humphreys county will make loading fish Thursday morning interesting
Of course they’ll probably shut the plant down cause nobody will show up to work and it’ll be hell keeping ponds thawed out to seine
