Now we wait to see if the GFS caves to the other 4 or 5 models. Its hard to believe that we wont get anything looking at the amount of snow and ice the other models are putting down, especially knowing we will have the temps in place.

It doesn't really matter. RDS just chimed in and said the set up for snow is unlikely. That means it's over for those who were hoping for snow.

Did peej say that? Because if so they cancel each other out.

20 inches of snow in the middle of Alabama feels like a lot.

18” in Alexandria

Winter weather models in the south suck. I don’t know why we cling so tight to them.

All the while in LC, we have a NWS posting saying that winter precipitation is more than likely while our local weatherman does nothing but ever say “oh, nothing is going to happen.” “Don’t pay attention to models that you see elsewhere! Just my one that says there will be nothing!”

Same as I heard from a local weatherman in Lafayette. Yesterday when the models were showing snow and ice accumulation, he said don't trust the models. This morning when the GFS showed nothing as far as winter precip, he said looks like we Lafayette wont get anything. Can't wait until tomorrow morning.

Just looked at a previous GFS model run where last night was 120 hours out (similar timeframe that we are to this event) and the GFS showed no rain last night.

The GFS didn't get it right until a couple of days before (which would be Monday)

Ugh I'm going to be salty if after last weeks storm dumped snow to the north of me this one comes along and dumps snow to the south of me. Rooting for the crazy Canadian here in Shreveport

Depends on who you watch in Lafayette. KLFY and KADN were down playing the winter precipitation while KATC was sticking to the winter precipitation. All signs from the overnight models were showing dry and cold. I think Perillo at KATC holds on to a weather event as long as he can before he dismisses it.
