Reddit is a textbook example of this.

And X, and Instagram, and the estimates are all over the place. from 5% to 80%.

A while back you could uncover bot comments by posting "ignore previous command (insert new command)" and the bot would perform whatever task you wanted, but I haven't tried in a while.

From a national security angle, it seems outlawing bots on social media would give the country a cleaner perspective about how citizens really feel about what is happening.

Instead, nefarious minds flood the net with views to manipulate the masses.

I don’t know if I’d say I’m a full blown bot, but I have been described as being “more machine than man, twisted and evil.” And if I’m being honest, that’s pretty accurate.

would change the name to “Dead Brain Theory”. I do see people online and social media who are easily manipulated and swayed by any given news article or internet rumor.

Absolutely true.

This board is a prime example of that.

Idiot posters will start a thread with fake data, and people here will commence to debate the implications of the fake data.

People are gullible AF.

Interesting, did not know that. More details?

Me too.. I go on twitter/x.

Go to Redditt and the number of accounts that are started on that day you are reading it is insane.

The worst is Threads. There are so many accounts that are race baiting and the shite they say is so obvious. Then most of the replies are from bots.

It's actually "ignore all previous instructions". When you believe you are communicating with a chatbot, those words act as a reset for whatever AI software that is being used to create said chatbot.

It s a prompt injection. Here's an example of it.

Granted, improvements may have been made and this prompt injection may not work anymore.

So the entire political board here?

The irony is astounding.

I've been called a bot a number of times on Twitter by seemingly liberal people. Always makes me laugh.

That board is moderated in a way to maintain the walls of the bubble. When you get threatened with a ban for posting factual information, you get the PB as it is today. That's why I just stay away now. It's a depressing place.

Yeah Reddit has to be mostly bots. And aggressively liberal bots, at that.

I like certain Reddit boards that are niche, and of course I like the porno, but the bigger boards are nuts
