They have people on payroll for patrols.

There was a drought in the mid-2000’s. Frisco had patrols that would drive around and look for offenders. They’d put a big red citation in a ziploc bag stapled to a large stake and hammer it in your front yard and then they’d turn off your sprinkler main valve.

The city would remove the stake and turn water back on only after you paid the fine. If they found the stake had been removed prior to that, they’d tack on extra fees. They encouraged neighbors to rat on others.

There was another big drought that ended in Spring 2014 by one of the rainiest Springs in a long time. Area lakes went from over 20’ down to 20’ over pool. If you use the timeline feature on Google Earth to look at satellite images from 2013 and 2014, the change is pretty incredible.

It’s been a relatively cool Summer in Kentucky and the rain has been far above average, causing extensive flooding in Eastern Kentucky. Pick your poison.

That. I’ll have that thx.

Magnolia trees are really taking it in the shorts. If we have water restrictions gonna be some expensive fines paid in Highland Park to keep them alive.

Usually the restrictions include exclusions for hand watering and soaker hoses for house foundations. It will be okay.

My soaker hoses and foundation will be ok but my pool will completely evaporate. I’m adding water from the hose for about 35 minutes a day just to keep it at not quite full level.

Another day, another 90 minutes of torrential downpours here in Charlotte. Easily the most rainy summer in the 8 years I’ve been here. It’s every day.

Got some much needed relief in South Arkansas yesterday and today. Small shower yesterday and rained all afternoon and stormed this evening. We needed it bad!

It will come back around.

It's just been a unfortunate weather set up for Mid America. A large area of high pressure just parked itself from the midwest down to the border and hasn't moved much.

I should have known something was off when we went from winter to summer. We completely skipped typical spring like temperatures.

Fortunately Northwest Arkansas got a good amount of rain due to a slow moving cold front and a warm front that set up over the area the last 4/5 days.

But temperatures will soon be back in the mid to upper 90's before the inevitable cool down, which I've read typically begins August 4th. Obviously wont be an instant cool down, but things should improve slowly.

Interested to see if the tropics will fire up anytime soon.

At my homestead here in Texas we have had less than 1" of rain over the past 90 days. It is freaking brutal, so many dead plants and lawns.

How much is plenty? I’m in Austin and it rained once for about 10 minutes in the past month

We’re going on 9 days of at least major downpour at least and almost a month of wet weather. You can have all this you want
